I read loads and i even say to Pork do you mind me reading in bed, as it wasn't allowed when i was married....(ARSEHOlE)
At the moment i am reading "The Rose West Story" Into the first chapter i was going to throw the book in the bin, but i just need to know everything !!
I am half way through and my next book is titled "The one that got away" which was her daughter. This is why i need to read the sickest book that i have ever read to continue....

My 2 favourite fiction books are Pillars of The Earth by Ken Follett and Skallagrigg by William Horward . I can lose myself in the stories. For factual reading Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain an extremely powerful book about the 1st world war. All worth a read. |

I love a bit of crime fiction - Rankin, billingham, Gardiner, gerritsen et al.
I also enjoy children's fiction - currently reacquainting myself with the works of lm Montgomery and Michelle magorian.
Yesterday I worked my way through 600 pages of free downloads for my kindle and added about 150. A mixture of classics and new.  |

I find it hard to have a favourite book. I have over a hundred that I've read quite a few times and have read a few which the first time I read them I thought were amazing but I would probably not read again because the biggest thing I liked about them was the way they built the suspense... And once you know how it ends you can't recapture that same feeling.
The one I've read the most by far is Lord of the Rings, while the one I'm really looking forward to reading is the last in The Wheel of Time Series which is due to be released soon.
I recently read Lolita for a course I'm doing and was surprised by how enjoyable it was to read given the subject. |

Not really a massive book worm but will often dig out a good crime thriller by dam brown or John Grisham. Currently reading bram stokers 'Dracula' on my kindle  |

I have just started my Christmas time read of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Read it every year ( I have a very poor memory so always forget bits) and I love it. |

I buried my heart on Wounded Knee by Dee Brown. I am a keen reader and love Native American history, so perfect for me. Its very harrowing, but a great read. |

Reading the tird instalment of Paul O'Grady, the have an M C Beaton bok from the Agatha Raisin series, light reading, but fun. Then the Miranda Hart book.
Again don;t have a fave book, but my fave author is Barbara Erskine |

Wilbur Smith or anything really Krays and crime/gangsters or erotic books

Just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - great read. Now reading the follow up The Girl who played with Fire. There is a 3rd book to follow that, can't remember title now. Pity the author - Stieg Larsson - has died.Very imaginative writer.
Any fact or fiction or autobiography book really, just whatever takes my fancy at the time. Got a tome called This Sceptred Isle by Christopher Lee (not the actor), on my Kindle. Great read about the history of Britian. Started it about 2 months ago and still ploughing through it!! |

My two favourite books are Good Omens by Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman and IT by Stephen King...I have both on my Kindle now as I've worn out 2 paper copies of each over the years...Currently working my way through the Kathy Reichs series of books featuring Temperance Brennan (I think Bones on the TV is based on them, but I've never watched it) |

It is, and was adapted with the author but the characters are very different - though it's a good watch.
Dexter and true blood are series of books that have been made into tv series and both books and shows are good but different. |

I liked Kane and Abel and Prodigal Daughter, but for me his best book was Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less. Brilliant book and they made a good film of it too |

The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest" Agreed, a great trilogy that I simply couldn't put down. A great shame that Larsson passed away.
Other than that, any Stephen King book (read every one of his thus far) Terry Pratchet (likewise) and I'm currently reading Porno by Irvine Welsh, another great author. |

Chickenhawk ( Bob Mason ): I cry and laugh everytime I pick it up, the futilty of war.
The adventures of Goodnight and Loving ( Leslie Thomas ): pure excapism and beautifully written from one of Britains finest writers. |

I read a very random book on holiday called The one hundred year old man who climbed out of the windows and disappeared.
Written by a Swedish author and the title speaks for itself. It's quite funny but it also goes back in time and gives the story of his life up until this point. Learnt a lot about communism!  |

I like the Susan Kay version of 'Phantom of the Opera' it brings more details that the orginal Gaston Leroux version only hinted at. I also adore Charlotte Bonte' 'Jane Eyre' |

Wow I don't know if I would want to read that at bedtime.
On an evening something humorous and less serious is the order of the day for me although I have read some interesting biography's recently. |

Read the Rose West Story a few months back, one of those books you want to stop reading, but can't (morbid curiosity I suppose)
I love true crime books - my nan started me on them many years ago, but mainly books on forensics. Read a fiction book recently called Flesh and Bone by Jefferson Bass - think its based on an actual body farm in USA - fascinating read |

I drop off a lot of stuff at the local charity shop and always beeline for the old books on the shelf when I'm there. I love the old stuff. I got the novel The Warriors by Sol Yurick and Last Exit To Brooklyn there amongst so many others.
Latest was a classic biography of several survivors of the Vietnam war, called 'Nam, telling how the war was so much more horrific than it's ever been portrayed or reported.
E.g. a rookie machine gunner was forced to smash the brains out of dead mens heads until he couldn't be sick anymore, just so he wouldn't freeze in combat when a fight would break out and he would see people literally being turned into bits of meat!

Its an autobiography, and takes into account Rose Wests statements and psychiatric profiling. Although I would never condone hers or Fred Wests actions, she had a horrific upbringing. I have a pretty strong stomach for such books, but this one actually made me feel physically sick when reading about her crimes |

I love reading, and often have a few books on the go at once.
Like dan brown, his books are good, like crime, thrillers, fiction, true life autobiographies.
Dont have a favourite author, I'm one of those, give me a book I'll read it types |

I tend to read non-fiction books. I'm obsessed by violence and crime.
Currently I'm reading about football hooligans, Barmy Army by Dougie Brimson. He has some interesting theories on Hillsborough.
I've just finished a book Inside the Minds of Sexual Offenders, which whilst not a pleasant read at the best of times was very interesting. Outlined why peadophiles offend, and why they are rarely caught until they have done lasting harm to a child. |

I'm just finishing Care of Wooden Floors by Will Wiles, a novel about a guy incompetently flat sitting for a friend somewhere in eastern Europe. It's very odd but quite amusing, particularly the unlikely fight to the death between the narrator and the enraged cleaner. |

I have read these too and they were good reads.
My fav books have to be by an author called Jean M Auel - the series is called earths children and they are primarily fiction but with a lot of historical fact thrown in. really good reads with some steamy sex sessions thrown in
I liked them soo much I named my daughter after one of the characters lol

I am the same. I follow certain authors. Lee Child and Archer are very good. I have never read any of David Baldecci though. |
