Not only is it "riff" and not "rift" as already pointed out, but I'm pretty sure what you're referring to is Ernie Isley's guitar solo and not the riff.

If you wanna talk solos then John Petrucci's solo at the end of Best Of Times (Dream Theater) is probably the best of the last 20 years.
The greatest ever would be Eruption by Eddie Van Halen. |
