Stop it, stop it! I don't want to think about Xmas yet. Don't like Xmas, its a very lonely time when you don't have much in the way of family. I would definitely escape, to my fave plave in Rhodes probably and experience a Greek Xmas

me too me too...but I'm proper miserable at the moment...I usually put my decs up around the 18th November (ie next week)...but I'll be away for the last week of Novemeber and so daren't put them up cos the cats would probably do untold damage to my tree whist I was away....so it'll be 1st of December for me this year

Still...I suppose it's less than three weeks away

yes I've got a six month kitty along with five adult cats. One year I came home from an evening out to find my tree on itside surrounded by many broken decs.....I screamed so loud my upstairs neighbour (who I had been out with) came pounding downstairs thinking I'd been burgled. Bless his cotton socks...he cleared up all the mess whilst I lay sobbingon my bed

7 days in a week...

However... Finding saying half as much half as often (thats a 1/4 of the norm) by that calculation and given the fact I now think before hitting the keys.. (Mostly) I should beat all previous records...

Maybe

We've always had the MIL over, unfortunately she passed away not long ago, so we thought we'd eat out on Christmas Day, sadly every where's fully booked

So sorry to hear that. The first Xmas after my dad died was terrible and then even worse was the first without my mum, Xmas has never been the same since.

I lost my lovely dad right before christmas one year (funeral was 23rd Dec)...it was a difficult time obviously, but because he had loved christmas so much we all made a pact to try and enjoy it despite our loss. Dad would have hated the thought of us not having a happy christmas. Well okay that one wasn't very happy, but between us we got through it without it being totally miserable either. It's 14 years since he died, but he is very much still a part of our christmas every year because the memories we have from childhhod right up to losing him remain vivid and very very special. To anyone who has lost someone they loved I'd say talk about them....remember the things they did/loved....and keep them with you.

Ditto. I think also when your kids are grown up its never the same, I would love to turn back the clock to when my daughter belived in Father Christmas, the excitment and wonder on her little face when she walked into the living room on Xmas mornings brought tears to my eyes. Not the same now shes a grumpy, lazy, demanding 20 year old, lol.

Oh gosh, don't think that will be for quite a while (I hope, not ready to be called Granny just yet) and anyway, my daughter is not very child friendly, she hates kids, lol.

Can't wait until 12:00h on 24 Dec 09 when I start my holiday

It will be a food and drink filled holiday, plus camping over the New Year weekend down in South Devon

I'll be on my own, however, that's how I like it!
