Cold shower anyone?
Jump to: Newest in thread
So I’ve been trying to take cold showers recently. I’m just starting out doing wild swimming so wanting to get used to the cold temperatures but I’m now actually finding that they do make me feel really good.
Anyway this morning I had just had a play and made myself cum and then jumped straight into a freezing cold shower. I was still feeling the effect of having just cum so when that cold water hit me, my god it felt amazing! My body really was tingling all over. Has anyone else tried this? I’m not sure it would have the same effect for men or anyone else enjoy just taking cold showers in general?

"I take a cold shower after exercise to cool down. Usually start warm and gradually lower the temperature though.
Yes that’s usually what I do but I just went straight to cold this morning. "
That’s brave!
I think you’re right about it not having the same effect on men. Wouldn’t want a picture taken, makes me tiny! |

Yeah that’s what I was thinking I think because my body was still really sensitive and full of adrenaline that the cold just added to that feeling. |

"All I can think is that you’ve just made me hot under the collar that’s for sure.
I know of a good way to cool off. I don’t mind holding your hand if you’re scared of the cold "
I’m all in. You can hold something other than my hand if you want.
Actually a bit of naked wild swimming sounds exhilarating. |

"I always have cold showers as I hate the feeling of hot water on me "
My hubby is like that. Can’t believe how hot I usually have it. I’ve always been one for a hot shower. I always have a sore back in the morning so found that helps so now I usually start off warm and turn it down for the end. |

I did a challenge of a 5 min cold shower a day for 30 days and I reallllllly struggled! Defo not amazing feelings like you described OP
If I was just back from a run it was quite refreshing but I don’t know if I could do cold showers again |

5 mins is a long time though! I’ve not managed that long yet. I think you’re meant to start off with shorter times.
I didn’t think I’d get used to it as I’ve always been one for a hot shower, like too hot really as I enjoy the feeling of the heat on the skin. Maybe it’s the extremes that I like? |

Oh it did feel like forever! A good song does help though
Hehe that’s how I normally like showers I guess your body is even more shocked as you’re used to the other extreme! Have you noticed any benefits like with your skin/hair? |

Yep, when I was student & the boiler needed a part. It was the most awake I had been (in winter), in lectures. Had to have really cold showers until it got fixed...
Seriously though Op(s) have you seen Wim Hof? I do think there is something in it co-ordinated with breathing. Look on YouTube to see what I mean. Athlete's/sports people use ice baths to repair injuries.
I swam in a man made lake in North America. Once you control the breathing & resist the "woop-wooping" sound it's not actually too bad. Felt great after the swim. |

I’ve been having cold showers after warm for the past few weeks. I started really to try and help my anxiety (it hasn’t! ), but I’m sticking with it. I managed three minutes this morning which is a personal best for me. I’m trying to work on making myself stay in until the feeling of wanting it to be over and being dying to get out leaves me, based on the fact that the key to beating anxiety is sitting with and accepting the unpleasant sensations. It makes sense somewhere in my head! |

It does make sense yes. It is mean to be really good for mental health. I think it’s all about controlling your breathing and just accepting the feeling. 3 mins is a long time, well done you |

"Luke warm is best for me after gardening. Nothing better, doubt I could stand cold water (to be honest, don't think the 'shock' is that good)."
It’s not for everyone. I hated it at first but now I find it exhilarating. |

Yeah tend to do it mornings though just for a few minutes at the end of a shower helps me wake up in the morning. Though I've done it for many years when I used to train for outdoor swimming. |

I started doing them to protect against cold water shock in case I fell into the water while paddling during winter.
I heard you only needed to do it a few times for your body to develop the extra brown fat or whatever it is that protects your organs but I kept on doing it as a habit now.
Definitely find it easier to wild swim now. |
