… makes you feel really emotional, and you might not even be sure as to why?

I just heard “holding back the years” and I realise that it makes me feel really nostalgic and emotional. I remember it featured really powerfully in an episode of Only Fools and Horses.

What song hits you deep and why?

Will x

My Father's Chair : Rick Springfield

It's about the passing of his father, that song really resonates with me.

Warrior - Demi Lavato that song cuts me deep, like it was written about me. Get emotional every time it comes on.

surrounded by twinkly lights

The Moody Blues- nights in white satin...

Featured in a Heartbeat episode of foot and mouth devastation and can successfully bring me to my knees, sobbing every single time.

Now I use it to have a cry it out session, when I need to have a powerful release

Bright Eyes - Art Garfunkel.

It was playing on the radio as my grandfather died. I can't hear it, even all these years later, without filling up.

I didn't realise it til it had me crying while I was singing along to a DVD a few years ago but 'Foo Fighters - Best of you' hit me out of the blue.

Other emotional ones -

Kings of Leon - Walls

James Blunt - Monsters

Defy another not to be sad watching those two....

Driftwood by Travis because it reminds me of happier times when I was younger.

Vincent by Don McLean because of the song itself and what its about.

I draw the line at James Blunt though haha - the beauty of music is that it’s so subjective

The Night We Met - Lord Huron.

Every single time. It's too linked to a certain person, so perhaps not that inexplicable.

Several associated with people who have passed I think we all have a few of those.

But Athlete - wires in relation to my daughters birth and the aftermath. She is a healthy adult now but tricky start and that song takes me right back to that time

He's not my taste in music either... But this one will slay anyone who has been in that situation. Manipulative video, yes, be effective, hell yes!
