After 37 years Running up that hill has finally made it to number one in the singles charts. All because of certain Stranger Things.

ITV 4 had that song playing when Chris Froome couldn't ride up Mount Ventoux and had to continue on foot, running up that hill.

I’ve never really understood the fascination with Kate Bush. Maybe I’m too young.

Everything about that scene is amazing. I’m gutted it’s back in the charts now though.

Love Kate Bush. Her whole back catalogue is amazing.

Some of the subjects she sang about were taboo at the time but she got away with it because her music was so ethereal.

1950's Original

Kate Bush sang a song on top of the pops ,which didn't sell.

Her singing was God awful...also she ate my hamster...and wasn't she the daughter of George Bush..coming soon .."What Katie did next"( went to the bank probably)

I adored Kate Bush in the 80s (her sense of drama really appealed to me!) and although the last album I heard was the Red Shoes I love her older music still.

I really should have a look at Stranger Things.

And the weird thing is she should have been no.1 last week… bear with me.. nerd incoming

Because streaming songs is part of the calculations now for a song just released it’s basically counts as 100 paid streams and 600 free streams equals 1 sale…. But for what they call legacy songs (basically song that are old!) it’s actually 200 paid streams and 1200 free streams equal 1 song… basically double!

So if the rules had been the same last week she would have beaten Harry styles to no.1

So this week the record company had to get a special exemption so they would be treated the same (basically one for current events)

And this week they are playing on the same rules!!!

There you go… nerd out!!!!

I have been a fan of hers ever since wuthering heights came out but I was too young to go see her the first time she toured and thought I would never get to see her live, so I felt so lucky to get a ticket for her London shows about 7 years ago, really near the front too, amazing experience.

There are two versions of wuthering heights, one inside and one in the forest, I remember the forest one first time around...

she has a very distinctive voice, twined with being a great song writer thats the recipe for success, nearly forgot that at 19 years old when babooshca was released she was super hot ?? ??
