I read this comment all the time. I understand it's used as a complement, however, I can't help feel it's actually a shitty thing to say.

I’ve noticed over time that who I fancy and who they fancy are always going to be different. So when I read anything about peoples looks, it doesn’t help me form any type of opinion.

It’s much like a beach pic or a picture of any stunning vista, when you’re there and taking in the full magnificence of it, the photograph just simply doesn’t do it justice.
Same with hot lasses, the pictures are nice but in person there’s extra radiance and va-va-voom!

I agree that some people are just naturally more attractive in person, some have an aura that you can’t see it photos but for me it’s just a cliché term used as a way of complimenting people.
Does anybody really look at a photo on a profile and this I’m not sure about he/she but read that comment and change their mind ha ha |

I don't think so. Photographs of sunsets and fireworks are never as good as seeing them in person and sometimes it's the same with people. Sometimes the pictures are hot but in the flesh they're still even better than expected. I think it's fairly common as a lot of the time people's attractiveness comes from their mannerisms and charm in addition to their looks. |

I'm the opposite, I look better in photos than I do in real life. I simply can't walk around with my gut sucked in, my arse stuck out and barely breathing, with perfect lighting and good angles like I can in photos. Plus people get a bit of a shock when they see me in real life because of my height and size. Mountains don't look as big in photos as they do when you're stood in front of it.... |

Hmm, I've always thought a pic is one thing, but until you actually meet someone in person you can't get a real feel for them. Can't get that spark from a pic.

Why is it shitty? I'd say it reflects the truth - you can't capture the sparkle of personality in a picture, or grace and style... And there are plenty of dreadful photos on the site, yes even hot pics  |

I've never put that in a veri, but I have said it to one guy.
He was very attractive but his only photo was a close-up dick pic, and I'm sure there were people he messaged who found that really off-putting, no matter how well written the message was.
His photo genuinely did not do him justice. It didn't even do his dick justice. |
