Is it OK to thank people for looking at your profile?

I used to message anyone looking at my profile and just say "thank you for looking at my profile" I stopped a little while ago because I wondered if people just thought I was being a bit creepy. What do others do? I'm assuming couples and single women just ignore as they don't have the time, whereas us single guys only get a few views a day/week

There’s one couple that view me all the time like multiple times a day at the weirdest times and it’s been going on for ages. No interaction or anything. Made me feel a bit weird so messaged about it. Nothing. Considering blocking but feels a bit harsh.

I don't think it's creepy - just odd. You might as well write to every company that puts a flier through your door.

I reckon it would be very rare to get a response. If they had wanted to communicate with you they are like to have done it when they were looking at your profile.

I think it’s borderline creepy. Sometimes I click on a profile by accident so it would just be awkward. I don’t really look very often but if they wanted to contact they'd wink or message

OP you don't know if you'll be interested in a profile til you look.

And when you look you may well be interested. But equally you may no. And sometimes you may find yourself reaching for the eye bleach and wishing you possessed a time machine to go back to before you clicked on that very profile.

If you haven't received a message then there's no need to thank them for looking.

Do you reply to all the junk mail that drops through your letterbox and every bit of spam email that hits your inbox, just to thank the sender for thinking of you?

Thanks for the replies everyone.. glad I stopped doing it. I get the replying to junk mail bit and it's a good way of think bout it. Funny though I did get a reply back thanking me for thanking her once lol.. it could have gone on for years lol
