Elephant attacks on humans in India are on the rise. An escaped elephant from a nature reserve and killed a 70 year old woman who was collecting water from the river then the elephant ran off. Incredibly that evening when the woman was placed on a funeral pyre by locals the same elephant reappeared and pulled the dead woman off the funeral pyre and started trampling on her...
What the hell is going on here guys and yes this is all over the news... |

"Careful Tom, there are people on here that will claim it’s down to climate change or the evils of the British empire. It will be our fault."
Are these beasts super intelligent?
Why would the elephant come back and trample on a dead woman. More to this than meets the eye ... |

Can't think of many nationals who did not run this story .
If it's true it is incredible. . |

I am an elephant whisperer. Get me on a flight to India (first class) and I can nip this uprising in the bud. |

We can only hope that these vicious killers never get hold of a computer, for they would surely be on the dark web within minutes getting 3D printed adapters for high capacity semi automatic rifles that will fit their chubby feet, and then we are frankly over, as a species. |

I think you may find the elephant was mistakenly trying to save the woman by trampling the fire out!! More evidence of gutter press deliberately misinterpreting an animals attempt to help avert a disaster!! What next - a tiger that doesn’t eat frosties for breakfast??? |

"I don't believe the elephant came back.
They want to kill elephants and are building a case against them.
Unless, she took its peanuts from it when she was a child.
Elephants never forget, Tom."
Anyone plays with my nuts gets the same treatment!! |

They are intelligent and remember well. We'll perhaps never know what triggered the attacks, it may have been stress, confusion or linked to trauma it had suffered. The 2nd attack may be coincidence of course.
Ee haven't respected and treated elephants and many other animals with anything like the care that they deserve |

"Could it be that it was not the same elephant. Is it easy to tell the average elephant apart ...."
I don't think it is Tom. I haven't much experience of mixing with our trunky friends but I'd struggle to tell one from the other I think |

The small ones are very cute although let it be known that Tom is no animal lover |

See your family get murdered, your home overtaken, your food taken and you too would be in a mood to kill someone.
Funny how we treat animals as the villain when it’s us who did more harm in the first place. And the elephant clearly had a score to settle.

Adult male elephants suffer from “musth” for a month or two about every year.
During musth a bull sustains a blood testosterone (sex hormone) level that is, on average, about SIXTY times the normal level. It literally drives him insane. He has a mega-headache, can’t control his bladder, and will often attack anything that moves, including his normally beloved mahoot, cars, and infertile elephant cows. All people who live near elephants are very much aware of this. The mahoots of bull elephants have very high death rates.
The news report is probably substantially correct, but the corpse-trampling was a random act of insanity – the balance of the bull’s mind was upset. He may have remembered killing her, or he may not. He was most certainly not acting in response to a memory of some interaction with the woman in the distance past. Oh, and of course, the funeral pyre was not lit at the time.

Just imagine if this elephant has the capacity for evil and not only did he murder that old lady but he waited until her funeral to drag her from the pyre and trample her like a rag doll ..
This could be proof of an elephants capicity for evil. One thing is certain. Tom will never trust one of those big buggers after this attack .. |
