Metallica - cos they combine being the biggest metal band on the planet with 'standard' gigs and festivals mixed up with almost avant-garde experiments like Lulu and Through The Never that often fail to engage the masses. |

"Varies all the time, current favourites are Volbeat and Five Finger Death Punch seeing 5fdp in September I can't wait."
Nice, need to add them to my list, they were my commute music of choice today! |

As for favourites..
Maiden was my entry drug and I’ll always have a special place for them.
Shinedown have impressed me massively every time I’ve seen them and are possibly the best live band at the moment (in my opinion)
Newer bands wise… Alien Weaponry are brilliant, Those Damn Crows are a great up and coming rock act and some of the smaller bands at Download really upped their game |

Historically probably
Iron Maiden
Guns n Roses
Metallica
All big in my school days
Was big into Pantera and Sepultura
But when they went all rain forest metal I couldn't really get into it
And at the same time Fear Factory and Machine Head landed and blew everyone else away
From then on I listened to a lot of classics but generally started listening to more punk and hardcore
But still some great bands killing it today like Lamb of God |

Oh god that's almost an impossible question as it changes all the time.
Right now I would say.
Machine Head
Corrosion of Comformity
Down
Clutch
Anthrax
Pantera
Sick of it all
Upon a borning body

Last metal band we saw live was Darkest Hour.
Before that it was Crystal Lake.
Seen all sorts over the years ranging from nu-metal bands like Korn and System of a Down to heavier/more metallic bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, Slipknot, Lamb of God, Converge, and As I Lay Dying etc.
We used to go to gigs more or less every week way back when. |

Metallica will always be my #1. Met them twice, seen them live (only) 7 times. Flew to San Francisco for the 40th anniversary shows.
Other than them, Machine Head, Slipknot, Slayer, Lamb of God, Pantera, Sabbath, Rainbow, Deep Purple... The list goes on |

"Anyone been watching the Livestream of Hellfest on YouTube over the weekend?
Some great performances.
Yes loved nightwish and epica "
They were phenomenal. Nightwish giving us the double whammy of Ghost Love Score and Greatest Show On Earth as a closer was epic. |
