Apparently my hairdresser says for me to have nice curly hair, I need to do more than just wash it and leave it to dry. Really?!!?
I am terrible at the whole beauty stuff and just can't be bothered.
I have never had my nails done.
The last time I got my eyebrows done I was about 19.
I've never had a spray tan.
I have grey roots, do I care? Well, kinda but not enough to dye it.
It takes me about 30 seconds to do my make up on a morning.
I'm beginning to think this is why I never get hit on in real life....
Are you high/low maintenance?
Can you really be arsed?? |

Unfortunately for most curly hair it takes a good bit of product and so many different ways to style. Some take a couple of mins and some more. Depends on if you want to start experimenting really.
Most days my hair is just thrown up in a bun but I do make the effort with it if I’m going somewhere |

Very much low maintenance here. I brush my hair in the morning, and that's the extent of my beauty regime.
I don't wear make up, have never done anything to my eyebrows, and only have anything on my nails when my daughter decides to paint them (and half my fingers in the process).
I wouldn't have bothered with doing any make-up and hair for my wedding, but my friends came round and forced it on me. My husband said I didn't look like me |

I get up. Brush my teeth. Throw water in my general direction. Do something with my hair.
That’s about it.
My barber sees me that little, he always ask ‘have you just moved in around here?’
Imagine what I’d look like if I did bother, because I still look f’kin amazing |

I don't even do that!
I need my make up, especially my eyeliner. I just have it down to a fine art and can't be doing with spending ages on it. |

I have heard that curly hair is meant to be very difficult to perfect! I'd make the effort I think if I was lucky enough to have curls, they are so gorgeous and I'm always envious.
I'm quite low maintenance. I've never done any of the things you mentioned. I do spend around 30 minutes in the morning doing my hair and makeup, but that's about it really. I enjoy skincare but wouldn't say applying lotions and potions is high maintenance. I get my hair done once or twice a year if I can afford it.

Medium maintenance
I like faffing around a little now as it adds to my going out out mindset
Day to day work clothes rendered myself to be invisible to others and its time for a change
I have curly hair and it takes products and time to tame the frizz and relax it into defined curls, of which 99% of the time I canny be arsed to do... |

I think I’m mid range on maintenance my hair is usually a mess & a bit wild. I do keep on top of my roots though as it’s dire!
I can be ready in 40 mins & don’t go mad with makeup but I always have my nails done. I’m not that pale so don’t bother with fake tan.

On days I can’t be arsed I resembled Hagrid. It caused a neighbour to ask if I was ill as I looked peaky
I get my lashes and nails done as it makes me feel good. Bit of make up if I leave the house.
Dye my own hair when I can be bothered |

I've never had my nails done. Don't think I could be arsed to do more than paint my toenails twice in summer.
I wear makeup daily but that's a 5 min routine. Same with my wavy hair. I use skincare and sunscreen daily but it's low on time and effort.
I'm quite happy with low-maintenance. I veer away from men who seem to expect a LBD and heels to go to a club. Urgh. |

I dunno, I don't think it makes you better or worse than someone who does like doing those things. It's cool if you can be arsed to do those things, cool if you can't.
Do what you're comfortable/happy with and all that. |

Ok guys, when you go out out, do you put the effort in then? I do but because normally I'm low ish maintenence, I faff around and end up wearing something completely different. What normally takes me 10/15 mins turns into 50/60 mins hate it but needs must lol. |

Hair dyed bright blue and purple regular for my mental health.
Eyebrows done as they really are thick and dark and left in threaded would look like something from fragile rock within weeks.
Other than that bit of moisturise foundation light for work a bit of warpaint if I go out.
Can often be seen in the wild sporting jeans hairy pits no makeup and still just as happy and comfortable in my skin |

Your hair looks curly already, but for real low maintenance go for the GI Jane look. Most ladies worry way too much about their appearance. Men rarely bother beyond personal hygiene (if you're lucky), why should you? |

Low maintenance, although being proud of my hair I always spend the most time on that. Wash, blow dry, straighten. Never use styling product and won't use anything less than Cloud 9.
Make up, I wear little make up. Not into loads of make up. Skin routine is just soap, water, coconut oil.
Pluck my eyebrows and shave my legs etc. Don't do fussy stuff like nails, I know I would just pick it of lol |

Very when it comes to my hair - people presume short hair is easy but it’s not, especially with colour upkeep and the style I have I’m regularly at my hairdresser
Daily I don’t wear make up unless going into the office or out after work, I’d call myself medium maintenance x |

Sally in when Harry Met Sally is high maintenance but thinks she’s low maintenance. This thread made me think of that film and I thank you for that OP.
To answer, for a guy I’m pretty medium maintenance. Do my nails for occasions, trim every two weeks, decent skin care routine and all that. Not fussy about most things I don’t think. |

I am these days, stopped colouring my hair during lockdown, just cut the ends myself.
Can't afford to get my nails done, I'm ginger, so used to being pale, no fake tan please.
The most make up I do these days is fill my brows in, mascara and a bit of lippy if I feel like it.

My niece does my hair for half of what salons charge.
I'm quite grey at the moment because of illnesses stopping me booking in.
I don't have much to do where my eyebrows are concerned so it takes me 5 minutes to tidy them up.
I don't paint my nails unless I'm going somewhere special as I don't like the feeling of the varnish on them.
I shave when I'm going to have sex.
I use a hair oil and heat defence on my hair only when I'm straightening it.
I'm quite low maintenance.

As a non-european with curly hair, I always found hair salon trips slightly traumatic as hairdressers didn't know what to do with my hair and I always felt judged. So I've stopped going
I trim my own hair when I need to. Otherwise Master likes me to have a natural look, so wash (co-wash really, shampoos aren't great), a bit of curling cream and air dry.
I don't get my nails done and I rarely wear make-up. Other than maybe once or twice a year as a change for myself
I'm low maintenance. It took me ages to come to terms with it, but I don't see it as not being arsed or not taking care of myself. I do yoga and mediate and take care of myself, but in the ways that I want and my Master wants, not in the ways society tells me to.

I remain low maintenance/lazy when going out. I'll brush my hair and put on a nice dress or top. Plus I'll actually shave legs and armpits if they'll be seen. Oh, and I might put on a necklace. Takes me about 10 minutes |

Less is more, I guess it’s not so much cba as prioritising what’s important, and many people are just happy with what they’ve got and look great with it. Low maintenance is definitely my thing, and if men wore more lipstick I’m sure many women would go off it real fast too cos it can be disgusting to kiss |

I'm low maintenance.
I do everything myself and to a basic standard. Basic hair colour slapped on, self eyebrow plucking, self body shaving/trimming, self painted nails. I look presentable for sure, but one could not call me 'polished'. |

I'm with you on the curly hair i tend to dry it straight until i get bored/my arm drops off, then it goes in a messy bun /plait to create beach waves
I still have some toe polish on from the April Manchester lounge
I get my hair coloured every 5 weeks or so, because I'm too lazy to do it myself |

Fairly low, brush my hair once a day, highlights every 12 to 14 weeks, I’ve never had eyebrows done or lashes, started having my nails done once a month but finding it a bind lol, don’t use lots of make up, as long as I’ve got my lipgloss I’m happy, I always moisturise though |

You don't need to brush your hair if it's curly. I got great advice off here last year. I use As I Am Co wash once every 5 days and leave in conditioner. Plop it on top of your head in a tshirt to dry. Sleep on silk pillowcases. Then that's my hair sorted for 5 days.
I love getting my nails done and go once a month to get a pretty design on them. It's no effort - it's a treat!
Other than that, I guess I'm fairly low maintenance. I wear makeup if I'm going out because I enjoy putting it on. |

Quite low maintenance I think. I love getting my nails done but haven't been able to afford my infill this month
The rest I do myself.
Basic hair and make up day to day but like to go a bit further if I'm going out out. |

I'm as low maintenance as you! I cut my hair short so it can actually be arranged by hand if necessary. But I do take the time to brush it when wet and just leave to dry. It's dry before I go out of a morning |

Never had my nails done, I don’t like long fingernails.
My body hair stays apart from legs. They are razored.
Hair I trim the ends myself because I’m trying to grow it and it takes ages, plus they always give me excess body at the hairdressers and I like it blow dried straight. I have started semi colouring it because I do get bored with grey.
Teeth. The ones I have left are currently my own.
Makeup - my eyesight is now quite bad and I use a mirror with x2 strength, so god knows what I really look like.

Low maintenance here for sure...no makeup, no fake tan, no fake or painted nails. I go to the hairdresser twice a year and same with the beautician usually for an eyelash tint as a treat.
If I go out, it's a little bit of tinted moisturizer with eyeliner and mascara. |

I normally trim my beard once a week and have my hair cut about every two months. I would love to let my hair grow but I have really curly hair so if I do it grows into an afro unless I put loads of stuff in it. So I keep it short.
Apart from when I am just going for a couple of beers with my mates I will try and make an effort if I'm going out for the night..
I really do like the low maintenance look women have. I think it shows confidence, self respect and fact of ownership of themselves. Where they don't have to conform to what the media or others say they should look like or do. |

I wouldn't call myself high maintenance but I keep on top of my grey hair, I do my nails and eyebrows regularly, I shave and I wear make up. I like to look presentable otherwise I just feel like a slob. It doesn't take much effort really. I'm still able to be out of the house 30 minutes after getting up. *shrugs* guess we're all different. |

I'm probably classed as high maintenance by many but don't really care.
Hair cut every 5 weeks or so (very short style so it loses shape otherwise).
Bleached & toned by myself.
Wear make up most days.
Do my nails & toenails.
Wee bit of gradual tanner when I'm getting my pins out.
My life is busy and I spend a lot of time running around and doing thing for others. So I class the above as a wee bit of self care. |

Im quite high maintenance I’d say, I always have my nails done (the only time was when I had my boobs done and had to take it off or when I go without for 10 days a year to let the nail breathe a bit) , get my hair done every 2-3 months, and love my skin care routine. I guess I spend 15-20 mins twice a day on that x
I look at it as self care tho, I love it x |

Gotta do what makes you feel good and happy about yourself.
Personally I like it when people look after their image.
Guys have got it easier tho as they can be ready in 5 mins and still look more than adequate, “privilege” of being a man right there |
