Doc Marten Sandals...

I bought myself the most delicious pair of studded Doc Marten sandals but... The soles are comfy as hell but the straps?!? 10 mins wearing with socks and my feet are verging on numbness.

My question is do I go about stretching them or give up...

Anybody any tips to stop my heartbreaking and having to give them up?

I know it's not the typical Fab post but I know Fabsters can offer the best advice.

I’ve heard the same

Apparently you have to wear them in - a lot

I don't know what the problem could be I have three different pairs of doc sandals and they are as comfy as slippers, I don't wear socks with them though. Whereas all the doc boot's we buy we wear doc socks for a few weeks while breaking them in. I find that the boot's I buy are a size 5 but sandals seem bigger and I drop a size to a 4. Do yours feel the correct size?

Lengthwise they are fine but width wise they're a struggle and it's not something I usually have a problem with.

Sorry to hear this, just going to have to wear them around the house in short bursts until you get used to them, try not to wear them too long until they are comfortable.

Hope it works out for you.

Should have said the socks were simply to help stretching

The aim is to be to walk round sock free...

Thank you! At least I'm not having to give them up.

A very nice woman on fab recommended that I got shoe stretchers. I bought some from Amazon and the changed my life from a shoe point of view. You just put them in the shoes, adjust them and leave

I have used shoe stretchers on the last two pairs of Doc Martens shoes I bought.

Kept them in the shoes for 7 - 10 days and no problems since.

Any DMS will rip your feet apart before they become comfortable. I found that with my boots and my sandals. You just have to stick with the pain till you wear them in!!!
