The owners of the retirement home where i maintain the gardens tell me they'll be entering the local 'in bloom' competition this year. Immediately precovid it was awarded second place for 'best communal garden' three years running.
Now there's a new category; most beneficial to wildlife. I've spent the last few years concentrating on increasing the diversity of the stock and introducing far more flowers.

To be honest the garden's looking at it's best right now with towering hollyhocks and forests of foxgloves and the roses! You'd think you'd died and gone to heaven.
Sod's law it'll all be past it by the time the judges get here. |
