Dear Auntie Wendi,
I've been off the scene for a few years now (not just virus related) and I'm struggling to build up the confidence to actually arrange a meet. It's been about 3 years since I've had a meet with anyone.
I've been talking to a couple of guys and unfortunately a meet last night had to cancel. We have been talking for a couple of weeks and I was excited and nervous but when he cancelled I was partly upset but partly relieved.
How can I get my confidence back without turning to a bottle of wine?

Well being in locldown Kay has postponed meets for two years which would make anyone nervous.
You're doing the right thing chatting for a while first.
Why don't you suggest a socialeet with the person first, this way there's no expectations or pressure. Just chatting to someone face to face and in person get to see if there's a.connection fir you and if you want to take it further.
You'd be durprised the amount of guys who are fine with this.

Sometimes two people work on paper, chats text and flirting.
But when it comes to real life unfortunately this always dosent transpire.
Maybe you're a slow burner and need more than one meet to ease yourself, or you just need to take the plunge.
