There are many different reasons for poor sleep, and I'm sorry that this is happening to you.
First, consider your stress levels, as this will affect your brain's ability to switch off.
Second, check your environment. Avoid having a television, mobile phon etc in your bedroom.
Blackout blinds are worth considering at this time of year. 100% cotton bedding is a good investment.
Are you hydrated during the day?
What do you drink in the evening? Tea, coffee, fizzy drinks & alcohol contain caffeine, so unlikely to help.
How about a shower before bed?
If you are still struggling, it might be worth speaking to your GP. They might refer you to a sleep clinic.
Good luck. |

Good list aboce - you can also try white noise , or head to BBC sounds for some sleep meditation tracks
If you are awake because your mind is racing, you need to deal with that first... Rumination is very bad for you
