Another thread just reminded me about lying.
Jump to: Newest in thread
I was reading an article the other week about left and right brain thinking and the differences between men and women.
It had a section about lying and, in short, when it comes to the whoppers:
Men being more likely to lie to cover up what they are really doing - avoidance.
Women being more likely to lie to gain/retain affection.... the classic being "I think I'm preggers"
Does that ring true with your past experiences?

Would agree a bit that females lie more for attention, but think they are equally good about avoidance too (especially how much things REALLY cost!) |

My first wife lied about her finances. She was/is fixated about money and even after we married and moved in together she never had her statements sent to our house, always to her parent's.
I'd call that avoidance in the extreme. |

I have been thinking about this a little more.
My experience of men is the lying by omission - everything on a need to know basis and they decide who needs to know. Whether this is just more avoidance or something else, I'm not sure. |
