I’m so sorry for your loss. Yes it’s a huge wrench to lose a pet, you just don’t realise just how much of your life they were until they are not there anymore. Ive lost a few pets in my lifetime and boy does it hurt, but knowing they had a good life with me, didn’t know abuse only love, bellies full and vet care when needed, takes some of that pain away. My last two went in 2018 & 2019, and I now have two cats.

There’s a saying on an FB group I’m on

“To teach us about loss, a new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart”

RIP sweet dog GBNF

Sorry to hear of your loss OP.

I lost my dog many years ago when I was a kid and still think of him.

It never goes away, maybe thats why I havent had another dog again.

It still hurts to this day.

Thinking of you and your family

Him x

Oh I feel for you, I take on older mogs - about every three years I'm in bits again, never seems to get easier but I try to focus on the good times and the life (however short) I've been able to offer

Thinking of you and tour family. Its really shit when one of you fur babies go over the rainbow bridge. But for them being in our lives for what feels like a fleeting moment, they add so much love.

Big love to you and yours

Xxx
