Both. But they do like to ramp up the prices as they know Jacinda in her Range Rover will pay them, just so she can talk loudly about it over cocktails with the girls

I love my local farm shop, yes it’s expensive but their meat and vegetables are far better than anything you can get in a supermarket.

I was in one yesterday. £4.50 a loaf and £16 a chicken! But the white middle class customers were paying up without a sweat.

Round my way generally the nearer a farm shop is to a town the more expensive it is. Caters for the DFL’s.

Same here. Some fruit /veg are way too expensive, so I don’t bother, but others are excellently priced and rally good quality. And the butcher in our local farm shop is really good.

Very happy to support locals, and local farmer’s market.

Hope the bread was good then.

Ours is good for fruit and veg, lots of local beers, very good butcher, and fantastic local fruit juices.

Never do a full shop though!

We just go for drives, often into West Sussex. Few villages have many shops and we often stop at a farm shop along a road just for a nose and maybe some local veg.

Yesterday we bought asparagus, broad beans, a brown pepper and some bacon to go with the liver.

My family has a farm shop, all meat is local,eggs/veg are local, bread local, were big on supporting local/british & small businesses. Its absolutely thriving especially since brexit, our farm meat/dairy has gone through the roof.

I personally havnt shopped in a supermarket for many many years.

People generally are more cautious about what they're putting in their body now, our prices rival supermarkets and you shop differently so typically waste less and the black big goes out virtually empty not full of non recyclable packaging

Same here in terms of buying out of season. Buying local during the short asparagus season be something that tastes like wood and has been shipped from chile …

I can get jeans in Tesco for £10, or Levi’s for £70. I’m not sure what your point is, other than locally produced items are more expensive than cheap mass made stuff?

Up here, in Fife there’s a farm shop that sells the most gorgeous savoury bread, ay £4.50 it’s not something you’d have with your sausages at breakfast, but tasty enough to have on it’s own with just butter. It’s Leek & cheese & utterly delicious

So do I (maybe the same ones?) and nor have I.

The butcher in my village farm shop is excellent.

Apparently so. Just one aspect of the lame stereotype being painted though.

Really? We’re you there?

No. But I’m also guessing that the other paired wasn’t present when “jacinda” was having cocktails with the girls and boasting about now much she had spent at the farm shop.

This was Cowdray in West Sussex. A very white stronghold full of posh stereotypes and the shopped stacked with every expensive morsel known to man.

Nice but very different to my local Asda.

The only things we buy from farm shops are the crops that particular farmer grows. Asparagus and strawberries being top of the list. Our favourite asparagus farmer retired and sold up a couple of years ago sadly for us.

Farm and local shops/butchers are all about being a little bit more ethical with your shopping habits...

It's all relative to disposable income.

Don't always be fouled by the products.

I work in industries were I get a sneak peak in how things are made. Think prettier Greg Wallace...

Some farm shop products are made in the same factories as the supermarkets. Only difference is a label and a the price hike.

You have to shop smart.

E.g I can go to a cash and carry and get 2kgs of smoked bacon or get 8 rashers off the exact same bacon from my local butcher for the same price!

Same biltong is in supermarkets as it is a farm shop.

Shop smart... enjoy the produce available from all places..

Otherwise if you want decent organic vegetables you're better off in Lidl in my opinion
