I bought my first single when I was 10. Frankie goes to Hollywood- Relax.
I did however ask my step father to go in the shop for me as I was far too embarrassed because the cover sleeve had a man & woman in sexy underwear.

I can't really remember. Possibly around 10. I used to run to the local indoor market and search the vinyl rack for second hand records, selected mainly on the cover art. It's how I discovered white snake love Hunter, and a few iron maiden EPs. My first CD was a year or so later, which was a triple pack of Motorhead albums. |

"Ok my first single was Leif Garrets made for dancing and I was 10 so I'm allowed to have horrible taste at that age. My first album was Evita. That is still a favourite." would that be the original cast with Julie Covington

"12 and it’s was The Marshall Mathers LP. Woolworths wouldn’t sell it to me so I got my sister to go back in and buy it
Good choice"
The angry teenager in me loved it. I prefer The Slim Shady LP these days but they’re both great albums. |

"Wham.
George Michael was the Ryan Reynolds of my youth.
Not fair. He’s dead so I can’t make jokes."
You can't make jokes about him anyway, he's far too awesome. |

Dont let death get in the way of cheap shots. Besides, he was pretty admirable, so JAG is right. |

"As far as I can remember, I’m pretty sure it was Blondie’s Parallel Lines and I paid £4.99 for it in Redifusion after looking longingly at it every Saturday until I could afford it. "
Same - a bit like most of us of a similar age. I did also get a Boomtown Rats album at the same time but can’t remember if it was Tonic for the Troops or The Fine Art of Surfacing. |

Think mine was Slade Live, at 12.
Moved rapidly onwards from there whilst still at school... Cream, Who, BJH, Free, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Pink Floyd, Derek and the Dominos and so many others.
All vinyl and still got them, and play them.
Class never goes out of date |
