Guess it depends on the business. I had every intention of creating a web site but simply haven't had the time to do so as I'm too busy with work (or posting nonsense on here). I guess if I start needing to advertise its where I would start.

It’s construction consultancy.
It’s a side line from my full time job |

Then yes.
Highlighting your qualifications and work history, previous jobs (with case studies and references from businesses if possible), photos and videos of projects and obviously contact info.

I rarely bother with any company or person if they don't have a website, worst still, one that functions well and easy to navigate.
If the website is clunky and awkward I assume their work/products etc will be the same. |

I agree with that. A poor website reflects badly on the business |

I'm always wary of businesses with no website or a very poor website.
A good website isn't necessarily one with a lot of functions. Just one that's easy to navigate and regularly updated without any bugs. Honestly, it's pretty easy to create a very cheap, attractive and functional website for any business. |

"Hey Folks,
Do people find a business with its own website more appealing? "
The other question is, if you don't have a website, how will people find you?
Most people will reach for Google (other search engines are available) to find items or services. |
