Ones that just lightly smooth the skin blemishes I csn understand but it’s ones that alter the face shape features that are no no.
I see many tv/ cds using them on here which I csnt get my head around as you won’t look like that in person
My face pics I send are with makeup snd without I barely wear makeup anyway unless I was going to a club party I prefer natural moisturiser skin look |

I've seen this a lot and can't get my head around it. Less is more (filters, make-up...). |

I'm the opposite, you don't have smooth unblemished skin. Those beauty filters make the user look nothing like their photos. If it helps the poster feel better about themselves then why not but would look to avoid anyone using them be it here or dating apps etc. |

I don't use filters but one of my pictures in friends only look as if I've used oil of Olay since birth. It's because I took it in bed holding camera up and a window above my head letting in brilliant sunshine. |

"Some using the snapchat filters here are ridiculous. Almost cartoon like. Have to say it does seem more women than men use filters."
Love the ears and freckles on some profiles and cartoon like filters, better watching anime (: |

I'm interested in photography for a while now and yes, it's amazing what you can achieve with proper light, different angles but is not a filter. Let you off this time (: |

As a photographer I tell clients I use filters/editing like a well known vitamin C supplement "You but on a really good day"
A 50 year old filtering their face to look like they're in their 20s totally mismanages the expectations of those who meet them in real life, you may as well just post a photo taken 30 years ago. |

Filters where it smooths my skin nope. And I dislike it when a mate uses them on other platforms. When filters have been used to the point it's blurred where you jawline disappears into your neck is just strange.
I posted on another platform of me minus make up caught in the rain on a hike. And I had loads of lovely messages saying how radient I looked etc. Wrinkles and lines aren't terrible they're a natural part of you.

I do think women are their own worst enemy sometimes, us guys are just a capable of being insecure obout or appearance but we are far less likely to do anything about it. This is definitely changing though and there seems to be a correlation between the amount of time a person spends on their own appearance and the amount they notice minor"imperfections" in others. I fully admit this is my own entirely subjective opinion but pretty much the only men I've heard making bitchy comments about a woman's skin makeup or clothing etc are ones who make a deal out of their own.
This is separate to the crude and often deeply hurtful way men will judge a women's appearance as a whole - words like ugly and fat are common whereas it's rare to hear a man say she's made a right hash of blending, or that contouring is wrong etc.

I change the lighting on mine quite often, because the lighting in my house can be too dark, although I have a new phone and it appears to take pics differently. I’ve just added a pic straight as it was taken, but it looks filtered |

Definitely your photos don't look badly photoshopped but good shots (guilty, had to have a cheeky look), and yes, lighting makes a huge difference.

As long as it still looks like you? I couldn't give a shit what filters are used.
The snap style bunny ears, captions, overly soft focused ones are obvious. And look ridiculous.
If someone smoothes out a few blemishes, hides some ink, or uses lighting well to make themselves look as good as they wish? All power to them. Why not?
If you think people don't post the best photos they can, hide the bits of themselves they're less happy with, use the best angles and lighting to appear as 'attractive as possible and attract the most attention from others as possible.........then I have a bridge to sell you.
If you're adjusting your body shape using the liquefy tool in photoshop, using age reduction software filters, increasing your cock/boob size artificially? Then expect a fuck ton of grief should you meet someone F2F and find them a little displeased.
