19 year old too young for a 27 year old? Love island

Not a fan of the show but something on twitter caught my attention. Some implying a 27 man is a nonce for liking a 19 year old. If I'm right don't they do 18-30 party's? Imo narrow minded people |

I have a female friend that is 38 years younger than me that I see. We are friends . Do admit so far not had sex. Both have agreed could happen. Both realise age difference etc. All can say is we enjoy each others company , have drinks, laugh , flirt and yes tease. Sometimes more so on her side. She is a single mum. Lives with her mother. In fact her mother knows seeing me , has my phone number in case of emergency. As one night child became ill and females phone had very low battery. So age is just a number ? . Both of us adults . I know will get a lot of negative comments . |

The majority of society is not as sexually open minded, and would find it abhorrent. Each to their own is the best way rather than trying to educate minds that really can't and don't want to understand kink.

As an older gent I see no issues with 19F with a 27M.
I myself have dated 21 year age gap and it works perfectly fine. Most ladies I’ve dated in recent years, there has been a 10 year age gap. |

I don’t agree that an age gap is a kink and unacceptable in todays society. Age play certainly is. Kink but to date a person in a age gap I think is unusual but a kink, I’d say no. |

It's 8 years.
I doubt the same people would say similar things if they were 29 & 21, or 35 & 27, or 41 and 33.
It's no doubt purely down to her being 19. An age at which she can smoke, drink in bars, actin a porno, join the army, get married, borrow hundreds of thousands to buy a house, become an MP and plenty of 'adult' activities.
People should be less judgy.

They'd started saying she's 19 before she even coupled up. I saw it on twitter when they were saying she might meet someone in their late 20s.

They don’t *really* love each other, like. It’s a pretend romance to stay in the process for as long as possible and gain a career in the OK! and Hello worlds of being famous for just being regularly in Hello and OK!
Then in a few years time appear in ‘Celebs go Dating’ or ‘Celebrity Catchphrase’ .. |

Fan is a stretch  but yeah I’ve watched a lot of the seasons. It started when I was at uni- it’s good junk tv. One thing I feel is that you can’t be serious all the time. It’s exhausting |

Always found the age difference on love island concerning. There's only ever been a few older women on there, for the most all the guys have been considerably older than the girls. Seems weird people leering over 19/20 yr olds that are made to look a hell of a lot older |

27-19 is 8 years difference.... that's nothing. My wife is 12years my junior...
The problem that people think the age of a young female is the problem if they pre 25...
When the age is older 25 onwards. The age gap is not recognised to the same extent.
So it's is fine for say a 25 year old to date a 33year old man.
But 19year old to date 27year old. Oh No, that's "pedo" territory...
Same fecking age gap...

The younger end of my social circle vary wildly in their emotional maturity.
Some would be fine, others I might be concerned about as they are quite “young” for their age.
But I’m not here to parent them. They’re all adults and they certainly all know their own minds. |

I’ve learnt the hard way never to mention to someone I’m dating nearer to my age that I’ve dated ladies that are 10 years younger then me .
They’d be shocked if I’ve told them, I’ve dated ladies 20 years younger.

Okay, so my parents met when Mum was 19 and Dad 39. Married at 24 and 44. Kids born at 27/47 and 29/49. Mum is now 63 and Dad almost 83. They divorced when I was a child.
Whatever the ins and outs of their relationship not working, there was nothing abhorrent about their relationship at all. |

Throwing around nonce comments when actually both parties over the legal age of consent is actually quite dangerous. In my opinion it's not a word that should just be banded about for something people don't consider appropriate. |

I was a parent at 16. I did a jolly good job, if I may say so myself. I didn't require supervision/assistance and just got on with it. My son will soon be 20 and is doing very well now. |

I really don't see what the issue is.
If there is a mutual attraction and both parties are happy with the arrangement it is their business and theirs only.
In addition, many younger people seek the stability and experience that they find in an older person.
Certainly in my younger days I found that an older woman offered so much more, if different than someone of my own age.
