I'm a bit under the weather and I'm trying to figure out what I should and shouldn't eat.
So can you give me 3 foods I can eat and 3 foods I should stay away from (symptoms are sore throat, coughing, runny nose and sneezing, no fever) |

"Believe it or not I think the trick to treating illness isn’t with certain foods but with just plenty of calories. So don’t limit yourself. Eat hard, hydrate hard, sleep hard "
Yea I'm not bothered with calories right now. I'm thinking either chicken corn soup, with some chicken noodles and rice or a chicken kebab with a chicken wrap
What about those options? |

Okay. Chicken soup...home made, slippery elm ( a bit like complan) and cereal.( Porridge)
Avoid stodgy foods, fried and cheese. |

Yes!!! That’s exactly what I do. Order the hottest curry on the menu.
Not recommended with tonsillitis |

Are those options calorie full? Enjoyable?
I only say it because a lot of people suggest food I don’t really like or don’t have, which makes it hard to fuel up on.
When I’m Ill I buy the same thing
2L chocolate milk
2L orange juice
A large tub of ice cream
Cookies
A couple pizzas
And that’s per day. I fuel my body with food I like to fight the good fight |

Make a chicken broth which is thinner than usual chicken soup thickened with flour etc.
Buy chicken stock liquid, add carrot slices and seasoning. As carrots soften add chicken pieces and cook through then add a few noodles.
Also drink green tea and an occasional hot milk with a drop of spirit of your choice.’
Eat brown bread and spread.
Relax and recover.
Avoid, too much dairy, desserts and anything too bloatty.
Oh and yes eat plenty of oranges and apples for. Vitamin C. |

Yes! I grew up in a multi ethnic household so was always given super spicy foods for sore throat or blocked nose. It definitely works |

3 foods to eat :
Ginger
Honey
Scrambled eggs (vit d and iron and light on stomach if it’s feeling delicate)
3 to avoid :
Milk based products (it doesn’t create phlegm but it thickens it up making it hard to expel)
Caffeine
Scratchy foods (hard on the sore throat)
Hope you’re feeling much better soon
Non food tips -
Plenty of sleep
Eucalyptus oil (thins and expels the phlegm)
Chloraseptic (better than difflam in my opinion) |
