Marriage has tax benefits and legal benefits. HMRC will only give you certain breaks if married/ civil partnership, but when they are after money, they say you are "living as a married couple" even if you are not married.
If, god forbid, one of you die, if married then dealing with the inheritance etc is far simpler. |

Only if joint tenants. If tenants in common they can leave their share to anyone. Same with pension - you have to nominate someone to receive it (& I need to update my nomination) |
