Stayed in a flat briefly in which one of the bedrooms felt like a fridge.
No one could stay in that room for long.
A feeling of dread and utter sadness would come over you every time night or day. |

It depends what we mean by ghost.
Do I think that dead people walk about for hundreds of years after they die? No
I do believe that for a short period after you die you're able to somehow be present with people and have had several experiences that bear that out
I don't believe that the people who claim to be mediums actually are talking to dead people either. |

I don't believe is ghosts. But I have an ipen mind when it comes to other possibilities, stuff that science can not fully explain yet, such as a 2 dimensional universe that partially exists with our own.
Saying that I have had an unusal experience while uninstalling medical equipment from the house of a deceased patient. |

Yes, me and mate saw someone walk out of the living room when living in Camberwell. It was just us two, although we were having a “smoke” at the time. It wasn’t a scary experience, just bloody odd |

I was a firm non believer but bought the house derelict and completely renovated it i had a hell of a time, my partner refused to come in the house after being held down, my brickie left site, i had so many experts over to try and subdue it. I have candles lit all the time and just tell it to 'fuck off' if i sense anything and ignore it.
The house was known locally as the 'murder house' many years ago '60's a guy pushed his wife down the stairs and she left in a ambulance he hung himself, no one lived here until i bought it from auction |

No it didn't freak me out because I didn't know they were dead. I'm not claiming they were sentient or capable of communicating with me although the cleaner did wave. In fact I make no claims in connection with my experiences at all.

If the place where you saw the person. If you could get CCTV footage of said person and it be confirmed that that person was already dead. Then you can prove ghosts exist. |

"all the people that have said they have seen a ghost,, they all cant be liars surley
They can be mistaken."
Exactly this.
We all have a spot right in the centre of our field of vision where we can't see a thing and our brain literally invents what it thinks we can see there. Spend 5 minutes Googling visual illusions and you'll soon realise that believing you have seen something is not the same as knowing it is real.

I've not seen a ghost per se - but I saw some"thing" one night in rural France that I can't explain (I had a mate with me & he saw it too)
Also saw an item move in my kitchen once - again I had a witness (daughter) we both looked at each other & at the same time said "did you see that"!

It's called evidence. Given the size of some of the prizes offered for proving anything paranormal and the utter failure by anyone to do so, the only rational conclusion is they don't exist. I've no doubt people 'see' stuff that they can't explain but this doesn't prove ghosts exist, it just proves they're either not very good at thinking of plausible explanations or they are seeing things that don't exist. We all give our brains far more credence than we should. Our brains and senses are not the infallible recorders of reality we think they are. They are just a system that is designed to keep us alive. Our sight is incredibly complex, honed by evolution to see the shape of a dangerous animal camouflaged in the shadows, it invents colours, patterns and shapes that aren't there, interprets a few random 2d lines as a real 3d object and tricks us constantly. Then, our memory isn't the simple recording feature we assume but it's changeable and proven to routinely be wrong. Combine these two together and you'll get people absolutely convinced they saw/ experienced something they simply didn't.
This weekend her ladyship and I found ourselves on a section of road we have driven many times - me probably 30 or more. We approached from a different direction to normal but, despite the map being clear where we were, neither of us recognised any of the road - including a massive orange church and would both have sworn blind we had never been there before. We drove it again from the usual place a few days later and all the features we had sworn we didn't recognise were still there. So how do I explain that? Maybe one of us saying we didn't recognise the road triggered a series of similar thoughts in the other, maybe, when we've driven it previously it has coincidentally always been at a stage in a long journey where we have both been running on auto pilot, who knows. One thing I'm sure of is that despite the completely surreal feeling, the totally shared experience, the utter conviction that we couldn't surely both totally fail to recognise or remember any feature in about 5 miles of driving, the explanation is certainly to do with our own minds and not that some supernatural entity has randomly changed a big chunk of mid Wales just to freak us out

As long winded as your argument was. And I did read it, and appreciate it.
You know you can’t ‘prove’ a negative that ghosts don’t exist simply be saying “we couldn’t find one!”
It’s like that - have you ever seen a million dollars with your own eyes.?
I just feel when arguments like your own are thrown about, it’s as ridiculous to me in the same way my explanations must seem ridiculous to you.
I like hearing peoples views about it. I like those that sit on both sides.

Cool story just nothing whatsoever to do with ghosts.
More a lack of observation?
Just seeing something you're so familiar with from a different perspective?

Back in the 90s I worked in a place where they were all into spiritualism. These were science types with degrees and qualifications.
The instrument maintenance man was a Druid and even the tea lady read palms and didn’t like the Druid as she said he had the evil eye!
It all got too much with incredible stories of things that were happening to them all.
One night I had a vivid dream about witches and awoke to feel a dread in the room. I called out to it and a picture fell from the wall. I jumped out of bed!
I think it was a warning to not meddle and I never did preferring a rational approach to life but knowing there is something beyond the day to day… |

I see dead people "
No, you can't prove a negative bit then you can't prove a positive either.
You can sit a glass of water in front of me and tell me it proves glasses of water exist but it doesn't. It simply says you believe what you're seeing is a glass of water, you cannot prove that it isn't in fact a ghost pretending to be a glass of water because as you so helpfully point out, you cannot prove a negative and for every "positive" you believe you can prove, I can come up with a negative that contradicts your belief that you are unable to disprove. We are each left to sum up the evidence and come up with the most plausible explanation.
The argument that you cannot prove a negative is one used by people who don't understand logic - invariably it will be someone arguing for the existence of something supernatural whether that's a ghost or a god.
Given that there is no evidence ghosts exist Okhams Razor says the simplest explanation should be the preferred one. Why invent a world that has ghosts in but leave no evidence of their existence when a world without ghosts is a simpler explanation?
