How much money do you reckon you've lost to gym subscriptions you've barely used, free trials you forgot to cancel, services that made cancellation an absolute nightmare so you just gave up etc?

I've been getting much better at this life admin kind of stuff these past few years, but have still probably racked up over 1k unnecessarily, if I had to guess

I manage my finances. Used the money as non smoker to buy a phone that doesn't come with charger or headphone jack.

Meantime Inbetween time, sponsor me op and I'll go for Olympic gold

I don't think I've wasted any money on those things.

The gym subscription is basically motivation enough for me to go and any free trials I sign up for, I mark on my calendar the day it's due to expire so I can cancel it if I want or retain it if I like it

I need this level of organisation in my life.

In the past years I’ve lost perhaps £1,000

These days I maximise my gym . So I’ve not lost any money. If I don’t work out on a particular day, I use the sauna / steam room.

That £1k you've racked up works out to 40 months at £25pm. I've had a membership at the gym for 7 years now, should probably go sometime and stop wasting money

Edmonton

I don’t really have any subscriptions. When I was a gym member I always went and I cancelled my subscription a couple of weeks before the first lockdown March 2020 so never lost out. Many years ago on a adult website I took out a 3 month membership at £60 as I had many messages that I couldn’t access unless I became a member when I became a member the messages stopped and that’s when the penny dropped that I had been tricked.I then cancelled the recurring billing but because I carried on using the website it put the recurring billing back on.It took a another £60 and a £20 phone call to get everything sorted out. From that day on no more recurring billing for me.

1k is enough for home gym workout. Assuming ops house isn't full of sex toys and lingerie

To be fair not all of that money was on gym membership. Various software packages, educational resources that I don't use most months but are handy when I do need them, gaming platforms etc.

I even just got a delivery of vitamin C because I keep forgetting to cancel my fucking Healthspan subscribe and save
