Do you mean leaking from the injectors?

No oil goes to them so it's not oil. If the copper seals have failed it's what they nickname "black death". It's not as serious as it sounds though. Just needs cleaning off and new injector seals fitting.

Caddy injector issues are a known fault aren't they? It's their one negative.

Leaky injector seals often are accompanied by a sort of "ticking" sound when the engine is running.

Common fault quite right black death big problem with most garages they don't recut the seats they just change the seals and stretch bolt but if been running like it for a while carbon builds up around the copper bottom seal so when they replace it it doesn't seal properly.

So need to replace seals on injectors?

"So need to replace seals on injectors?"

Yes and likely recut the seats to ensure a good seal. The hardest part is removing the injector if it's caked in carbon (looks like black tar around the injector). Usually soaking in carb cleaner or Coke overnight softens it enough.

If it’s the Diesel engine with the multi-spline bolt holding the clamp down, they usually pop straight out.

We change them at the side of the road.
