You’re not the only one at all. Fantastic first hour and further proof that Anderson and Broad aren’t done.

Paul Collinwood was a dick to try and build his coaching reputation on ditching them

I have the house to myself, so wont be moving off the sofa all day - though I probably should get dressed at some point!

I love the test cricket. I know the 100 etc are good and exciting but there’s something special about a proper test. Superb start from Potts too. Delighted for him

Great start. Potts looks like a seasoned pro so far

I’m watching/following, and will be cautiously optimistic. The bowling department hasn’t been Englands issue for a while, it’s getting those runs on the board, and making sure there’s a fuckload of them to boot.

First I’ve heard of Colliingwood being involved in the squad decision for the West Indies?

I think leaving them out was not necessarily a bad shout, dont want those aging bones pounding up and down on the roads they prepare in the Windies

3 way decision - Strauss, Collinwwood and Taylor. Strauss took the heat, Collinwood threw them under the bus

Manchester (he/him)

It’s good to see us back in conditions that favour us. Anderson is a master and in swinging conditions he’s almost unplayable.

It’s up to the batting lineup now to turn the screw.

We seem to be making the #1 test side look very average at the moment…

Sorry, I'm not totally convinced by an England bowling line-up on the first day of a test match in England. Their bowling has always been their strong point at home, it's their batting that needs to pass the acid test before any judgement of a new era can be made.

I don't think anyone is making judgements yet, just enjoying watching us make a decent effort for a change. Agree what you say about the batters though, they're the ones that really need to improve
