That's standard procedure for who ever is playing against England
Each house is issued with every other national flag in preparation |

as england fans we always want the home nations to wins too unless playing us ..
scotlan needs this they have some top top players
but on the other hand no one is going to get upset if the ukriane wins because of whats going on |

It appears from some posts above that so called British people seem to be somewhat 'Scots haters'.... Such a great shame in this day and age to have those type of comments. We are (us two definitely) welcoming to all regardless of colour creed or sexual orientation... But to show such venome for other Brits. Ah well, seems narrow mindedness will never disappear...( Brace for public and private insults....)  |

I would say there are in all of the nation's that make up the UK, there are a minority of haters yes and they feed off each other..

Football tribalism will always exist. I guarantee no Barcelona fans were rejoicing at the Champions League Final result. So it isn’t a British thing….
There’s also a smack of what goes around comes around too, See many previous threads where the roles are reversed.
Plus it’s half time only and still time for some to have to eat their words. ( a neutral) |

Personally, if you're perceiving "venom", then you're attaching far more importance than is intended. It's just lighthearted stuff.

I'm intrigued which posts have venom. I'm surprised how many are for Scotland.
I'm sure that of I go to Scotland, it's like Wales: I support two teams. Wales. And whoever is playing England.
There are what, two posts like that. And they don't seem to have venom in them. |

--I support Wales, and then I'd support England over whoever else they are playing - including Scotland, who I am probably just a wee bit more competitive towards ultimately (whilst feeling naturally a little bit closer to England).
But today I supported Scotland over Ukraine because of our natural British connection (the romanticised 'Celtic' one means too little to me to eclipse that).
I have no time for the "I'll support whoever plays England" attitude personally, as it seems to go beyond the actual sport.-- |

Generally I have no interest in Scotland/Wales/NI results, win or lose. As far as football goes, for me, they are different countries. In this instance I’m happy Ukraine won, but only because of what is happening to them. |

Don't be so fukin stupid sir it's the Scots that hate the English every other English perosn posting says good luck and we only want them to lose cus Scottish people hate the English let's be honest , I live up here always saying fuk the English Westminster etc let's be independent so don't talk about the English not liking Scots muppet |
