Is it time fab gave these 3 different categories? TVs are very serious about being women or at least in part , Most TSs are good taking time and effort to look the part, Some CDs take trouble and are excellent while others seem to think that being hairy and masculine with a pair of women's knickers on is enough. Interested what others think  |

As far as I understand it there's no difference between CD and TV.
The former is an American term and the later comes from Latin and is more commonly used in Europe |

I thought CD was people dressing up in other gender cloths but still themselves. A TV dress up in opposite gender cloths and take on a personality of that gender, and TS are people who are transitioning to their chosen gender and live their life as that gender? |

The term TV has fallen out of favour and while many will still identify as such, CD is the more generally accepted and promoted term.
Similarly TS is no longer used by LGBT organisations as it implies that being trans is sexually motivated, and transgender is preferred.
Trans people don't choose a gender, just as gay people don't choose to be gay. Transitioning is about affirmation, not transformation. |

There has been a constant discussion over separating the categories for all of the time I’ve been on the forums. I don’t think it will happen as we are just a minority group on the scene. Also the site hasn’t changed in the 5+ years I’ve been on it.
When it comes to the TV/TS
TV is short for Transvestite, someone who is trying to look as closely as a woman as possible. This includes feminising their body, plucking eyebrows, shaving arms, legs, chest etc…but they’re happy being a man and have no desire to change their sex. As I am a TV I can tell you it’s not always about sex but a compulsion to express a different side to their personality.
TS is about Gender not dressing up, so they were born in the wrong body and some will have an operation to rectify that issue. However some Trans Women may decide not to have an operation but live as they are. Not my area of expertise but we are totally different the TV and TS category.
CD or HPW is about clothing, so crossdressing for CD or Hairy Panty Wearer for HPW. Unfortunately given the most negative views on most sites. But deserve as much respect as anyone else, these guys or even women enjoy the clothing of the opposite sex. That can be sexual thing most of the time, but not always.
That’s my take on it.
