I dodged the bullet that is covid, thanks to the jabs, masks and breathing in D10 sanitiser mist, whilst cleaning all day long.
Just a week later I get a cold, no surprise as that job ended, so no more masks. No more lurgy protection either
i thought it had gone away only to be replaced a few days later with what I thought was bronchitis, it was an infection of the upper air way.
This little dose of germs, stopped me from sleeping, laying down, breathing in motre than a mouthful of air and coughing my guts up like a 80 fag-a-day docker, with every flavour of cough, taking their turn to torture me.
Not fun.
Let's see how life is after the steroids have done their job |

Have you thought that you could in fact have now picked up covid?
Contrary to the government minimalisation of it, the pandemic has not gone away. It is just that the government has stopped all free testing, halted reporting, and is basically lying to the public. Independent statistics imply that the number of cases is just as many if not more than it was at the height of the first wave, and there continues to be hundreds of deaths per week of people with covid who would otherwise be healthy or previously had only conditions which were not immediately life threatening.
The number of people suffering ongoing illness for periods of months, and in some cases years, after covid infection (ie. so-called "long covid") is continually increasing.
The government has told everyone to throw away their masks and to go back to "normal" living because (a) they didn't want the continuing hassle of people moaning about the efforts of public health to keep them healthy, (b) it was costing a shit load of money, (c) it will actually save the state lots of money if the average life span is reduced by ten years or more, their biggest wet dream would be for having no more pesky retired people demanding the payout of the pensions that they have saved all their life for.
Meanwhile hospitals all over the country are totally bed blocked by the number of people that are severely ill. Just last week my 90 year old father who had fallen because of his heart condition had to wait for more than 24 hours for an ambulance, then when he got to the hospital had to wait inside the ambulance for several hours, in a queue of more than 20 ambulances, before it was possible to even take him into the emergency department for assessment. He was finally put into a hospital bed more then 36 hours after the initial 999 call, purely because it took that long for any bed to become available. This was not any special case due to some local mass casualty event, this is just the "new normal" for every hospital in the country.
The government might like to play down the effects of covid, but it is transparently apparent that it is in fact still ongoing, is still affecting millions of people in the country, and has absolutely paralysed the health service. |

As for my covid results, I did a test once a week, as I have a few test left. They came out neagtive.
My left nostril felt like it was burning when the swab went up, the right nostril didn't. Mustard almost had no taste or heat, unlike last time when it tasted like mayo and had no heat.
Covid doesn't scare me as I've had my jabs, but colds do: there's no vaccine for them and yes I am flu jabbed. |

My ears have finally popped, so the tablets are working.
I owe a lot to blue cheese and coconut milk, they really lessen the infection and inflammation, whilst waiting 4 days for a GP appointment. |

Yeah, it's a a nasty one. I've managed to pick it up just as we've come on holiday.
One of the worst sore throats I can remember and nothing helps to relieve it. The tickly cough is also infuriating. |

Just on back end mine been a month with cough lingering had antibiotics to treat chest and do feel after Covid more prone so keep taking extra vitamins intake daily, get well soon  |

Hospitals are not bed blocked with Covid. Ill patients yes, but hardly any have Covid.
The cold is bad as wearing masks has rendered our immune systems a bit lazy so they’re less good at fighting “simple” bugs (like monkeypox!)
There seems to be a vocal minority who want us to lock down in perpetuity. If you want to be a hermit then crack on - but let the rest of us live our lives! |

I was refused antibiotics as their policy is corticosteroids to take this nasty virus. |

Oh god, I ended up hospitalised with something very very similar 2 weeks ago. Very scary. Have only just started feeling better now. Wish you a speedy recovery! |

Sounds like it hit you a lot harder than me, I am still not 100%, but at least I didn't end up in hospital.
My pahrmacist said, "Ring 111 next time and tell them to give you steroids again, rather than waste time waiting for the GP to open up and fight through the booking system."
These things have to turn up on a weekend, don't they?  |

Steroids are fine for asthmatics or COPD patients.
For COVID, steroids lead to good outcome in sick patients but strangely lead to a worse outcome in those not as bad (objectively bad - as in HR, SaO2 etc., not “I feel like shit”). So they’re not the panacea… |

And patients who have conditions like dysfunctional breathing (The diaphragm is to blame for this one).
Combined with GERD, this faulty stomach valve aggravates the windpipes and makes those infections and inflammation sites worse.
This is not asthma, but it just as horrible. |

At what point do you think it's never going to end?
I don't smoke, so why am I getting so much pain and suffering?
