Any Marvel fans here, anyone looking forward to the new Thor love and Thunder. I'm looking forward to seeing Gorr the God butcher played by the one and only Christian Bale, I feel as though he's going to steal the show. |

Ryan Reynolds will be making an appearances in the not too distant future so you’ve only got about 25 films and 5 series to watch to catch up. |

I'm excited for Love and Thunder purely for it being a Taika Waititi film |

I've owned these for years but am going through them in 'internet order', pretty much at a snails pace. I just recently got to the 2nd Thor, a real drop in quality I thought. Loki was good value though, and Thor himself is a decent act too.
The net tells me to start the first series of Agents of Shield at this point, but I sold that bluray a while back so I think I'll just stick with the films. I did watch a bit of the Agent Carter series after the first Captain America film (it's pretty fun), but watching it all just takes too long I find. I do like the fact they have a rough order to them though, it just makes so them hard to catch up on, esp in the cinema. |

Indeed, nerds are clever and “bookish”, learned in a particular field of study. Geeks are fans, enthusiasts, for a particular field or topic.
I am both. |

--Glad I sold it then. Getting back into it all I recently read it does gets better (and goes into some detail about what actual happened to Coulson in Avengers), but when I realised early on how many seasons they were making I very deliberately bailed out.- |

Looking forward to the new Thor movie!
I was a bit unsure when they took the last Thor movie the comedy route, I think it worked in places but didn't in others.
Dr Strange was really good, exactly what I expected from the whole multi-verse thing. |

I enjoyed the avengers films. The last two were probably the best - loved it when they brought all the Marvel characters together. I’ve probably watched both films around half a dozen times.
I was really disappointed with the Eternals film - so much so that I stopped watching it half way through. They killed of Ironman for THAT? |

Loved number one. Not so much number two.
The bar was high after the original. |

Yeah he’s rarely in anything that isn’t good tbh. Not seen it yet as I was away when it came out but I’ll give it a go. |

I've enjoyed some of the movies but as someone who collected and read the comics as a kid (still buried in my garage), I'm disappointed in how much Hollywood has butchered the characters. Some of them are so far detached from those the in the comics, they are recognisable by name only. |

Bang on. The Marvel films (mostly flops) and tv programmes outside of the MCU and Disney are often much better. Daredevil was very good I thought (until the last series). |

Thats the idea though.. reinvent them so they are fresh.. some plots are taken straight from the comics mind but rechanging the characters a bit can be a good thing. Like, giving thanos a quest to collect the infinity stones for what he thinks is for the greater good is a much better plot than to impress a death goddess instead lol I'll shut up now lol |

Josh Brolin brought some real credibility to that role. I liked Thanos and RDJ was awesome but found say Cap A a bit off. Just my op though! |

Exactly!
I wouldn't say that the film's were a flop either, not only were they box office hits, but they opened up the comics and graphic novels to generations of people who previously wouldn't have come across them...
Or who found it a cliquey and overwhelming scene and despite knowing they would like them, weren't sure where or how to start with such a back catalogue of material. |

Yep, I understand they want to make them accessible (so as to make as much money as possible) and Hollywood typically seems to do some reinventing - sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn’t. In this instance it works for those that aren’t familiar with the comics but for those that are it’s just time spent thinking stuff like, ‘no that’s not what Thanos is like at all’ and ‘no it didn’t happen like that at all’, or where the fuck is Adam Warlock (a central cog in the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War sagas) Or this ‘new’ story doesn’t make sense at all all given what we already know about the characters.
Captain America, Dr Strange, Iron man (Robert Downey Jr doe an excellent job) and the Hulk are probably the characters who have stay true to form the most. All are excellently done in my opinion but the Hollywood versions of Thanos, Thor, and the Silver Surfer are awful. The characters not the actors who play them. |
