Yep, was moi! My poor pussy has some sort of eye infection/conjunctivitis - last week the vet gave her an injection and me some drops to put in her eye - did fine when I had mates dropping in who I shanghied into helping out, but doing it myself, more went in her ear and on her head than in her eye, but it seemed to be clearing up and I ran out of drops...
Yesterday I noticed it was weeping and a bit swollen again, so off to the vets again today - I asked if there was anything I could give her orally or as a crushed up tablet and explained not only was I struggling as one arm is a bit weak at the moment, but I'm totally squeamish when it comes to others eye problems (fine with my own). So then he said "I'll inject some steroid and antibiotics under her eyeball into the conjunctiva"...cue Caz turning a whiter shade of pale and feeling lunch about to make a reappearance..
The nurse escorted me back to the waiting room then helped the vet and put some cream on Smudge's eye so she's gotta go back again on Friday...hoping this'll clear it up, cos I'd really struggle if I had to do the flipping drops again ![](/icons/s/neutral.gif) |

"Oh i dont envy you...blood and guts, piss n shit i can stand, do something to eyes and im a wibbly wobbly pile of crap. "
Yep, I couldn't do eyeliner when I first started wearing makeup back in the dark ages...I'm better now with my own eyes, can do drops if needed, even had them lasered, but show me someone/thing else's eye and I'm a wreck ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

I've had a similar thing done to me, an injectuion into the eye, not at the vets though.
Ah poor cat, let's hope all is well. I don't like trying to give animals medicine ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I know how you feel.
Back in 1988, I went through 6 operations on my left eye in 7 months at the famous Moorfields Eye hospital in London.
One of those op's was under local anaesthetic! When they said what would entail, I was actually bricking it, as if that was going to happen?
But with so much liquid anaesthetic drops administered into the eye over an hour prior to the op, I actually didn't feel any pain at all! I felt the needle going into the side of my eye but zero pain!
The surgeon said, it's more the thought of what might occur than the reality! |

Oh you poor thing!
Im a good first aider, but when the adrenilin has gone, I am such a wuss!
My sister sliced her tendons on a tin of soup no less! I wrapped her hand up in a tea towel, got it elevated etc. Took her to hospital for stitches and got sent to the waiting room as I went green apparently, as they 'didnt want another casualty'. I really cant do blood or squeamish things and even worse going the vets with my princess than a hospital! |

I'm squeamish when it comes to eyes too. Can't even wear contacts because I can't bring myself to shove my finger in my own eye.
Even reading above that moggy had to have an injection in it's eye made me wanna hurl. ![](/icons/s/redface.gif) |

I'm very squeamish with anything to do with eyes.
Remember at school when they used to cut things up in science ?
I was OK with everything (not great, but OK) apart from when they had us slicing a bulls eye open.
Let's just say, I spent the remainder of that lesson sat outside the school nurses office with a washing up bowl on me knee. |

"I remember keeping a pigs eye in a jam jar when I was a lad. Had to throw it away when it got wriggly visitors though.
Where did you get it and why?"
From the local farm. It was my all seeing eye |

Back to Vet's with Smudge today - another injection (this time in the back of her neck so I didn't need to vacate the room) and some cream in both eyes...she's been sneezing a bit but she's fully vaccinated against flu so vet says not to worry about that too much, take her back for another checkup next Thursday see how she's getting on...£80 so far, excess on my insurance is £75 so a claim may be forthcoming if it drags on much longer ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |
