"Yes! A couple of events at school and my small road is having front garden picnics and music again. I love it "
I love it too, We are going to a couple of events. We are considering going to watch the flotilla but think it will be too crowded. |

That’s the problem isn’t it. I often want to go to things but then I’m just nah it’ll be too crowded! |

"Going on holiday. We'll if our flight isn't cancelled
Me too "
I was listening to Simon Calder On the radio yesterday I think it was. He said in most cases if your flight hasn't been cancelled 3 weeks before departure unlikely to get cancelled. |

We are sort of swaying towards not going at the moment, It's not just the crowds when you get there though it's the tube and the noise. Think it's one of those things where we like the idea but the reality won't be practical. |

"Street Party and Work Party. Lots of Union Jacks, home made cake and British beer to celebrate the World's most successful Constitutional Monarchy. "
Sounds brilliant.
I was talking to my husband about this the other day and it will probably be the last Jubilee in our lifetime. |

You are the same age as my husband. ( Not that that is relevant, I just love being able to say my husband) |

"I don't think you have to be a royalist to want to celebrate and appreciate a woman who has done nothing but serve her country for 70 years. "
Definitely not. And the link between being a royalist and a brexiteer is annoying too. Certainly not the case with me! |

Exactly. It is also a celebration of the history and continuity which have kept this country stable while most of our neighbours fell to extreme ideologies and civil war. Over 300 years of continuous Parliamentary Democracy and Constitutional Monarchy. |

I’m Going to celebrate the long weekend
I’m not a royal fan at all. And I’m not the only one who cheered for the bank holiday before I cheered for her birthday! I’m one of them. Couldn’t give a damn really. Good luck to her. |

Tell that to the Tolpuddle Martyrs and similar who dared speak out for a fairer deal. |

I am looking forward to a shorter working week but I won't be celebrating the Jubilee. Instead I will be with Mr NBVN enjoying a long weekend break to North Wales.

"Coincides with our vicennial pole fair, so we'll be going down to enjoy the festivities put on that day
What’s a pole fair? Maypole?
J x"
"The Pole Fair celebrates the granting of the towns Royal Charter in 1585 by Queen Elizabeth I as well as celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Pole Fair traditions, including dawn charter readings, floral arches, the stocks, stang, ox roast, greasy pole competition and this year, a new heritage trail too.
There will be a community breakfast, a picnic, music, dance, walkabout performers, a carnival parade, funfair."
It's a bit of a funny old local tradition held every 20 years here |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I've done all the other jubilees and unexpectedly doing some of the big jubilee things this time.
I'm also going to LAM.
If she makes it to 80 years on the throne, what will they call it? I'm not sure I will make it through another 10 years.

Sadly I think this will be the last Jubilee in many of our lifetimes. |

My brother's street are having a party, we might join in. Otherwise, I'm spending Jubilee weekend either clearing my Grandad's house or looking after my Dad/visiting him in hospital or wherever he is. |

A mixture of things over the days as mostly on my doorstep from the pomp & ceremony of the trooping of the colour on Thursday, mix that with a multicultural party in Newham full of food & music from the cultures of the borough; all things naval in Greenwich with sea shanties & food; then a mates house / garden party on Saturday.
I’m sure I’ll discover more, I’ll just let my feet & ears guide me. I’ll be soaking it all in as will be the last in my life time. |
