I find it very difficult to understand when you may have been chatting away with someone on here for a while then arranging a meeting then the day before there comes the lame excuses that they can't meet.

What do they get out of being on Fab? Is it the thought of what may of taken place? Is it that they just enjoy the wind up?

It must be me getting pissed off with them I guess. Reliability goes a long way on here in my books. Pity there isn't a tick box for timewasters on the profile but then that would be open for abuse as well.... Ho Humm.

As Victor would say - I don't believe it!

Happens mate, don’t let it bother you, delete and move on. Bit pissy of them but ultimately and from experience there’s lots more out there.

Way too easy for people to cancel.

Lack of manners, confidence and mood swings.

On the plus side at least they're giving you advance notice that they can't meet.

I'd say the ones who just don't show are the worst .

It is easy to do this sort of thing on the internet as your anonymous really .

It happens hun to all of us, not so bad in my eyes if they message and cancel as I could be a geniune reason for the cancel, now wot gets on my tit is when people either start blanking your messages on the run up to meeting, or worse is when they don't show for the arranged meet, I give a second chance to those that cancel, but those that just don't show can jog on

I don't think they ever intended to meet. Maybe the flags are there at the start, I don't know because I can't spot them. It's just one of those things you have to accept here. Crap but common.

I don't have a problem if someone needs to cancel, it happens life gets in the way of fun. Its the ones who ghost on the day or just don't show up that wind me up, no need for it, I really don't understand what they get out of it.

I traveled the other day to meet a convincing faceless pic person in hotel. Thought he was genuine as given hotel room and asked me to park between two certain cars. Couldn't do that as place taken, so parked further down. Got to outside his room, knocked, no answer. Message, not read. Went after ten minutes to find he blocked me. Not as if he didn't know what I looked like as sent full body pics and face and actually asked him if he was sure just before I left. He said oooo yes I'm waiting. This was in the sister site of fabguys. I deleted my account. Full of timewasters.

I’ve had to cancel two separate meets, not because I wanted to or because I’d changed my mind, occasionally real life gets in the way and like everyone else, I have a life and responsibilities outside of “fab.” No it’s not ideal having to cancel on anyone, but it just can’t be helped at times. The first time I had to cancel was fine and we just rescheduled, the second occasion the guy got really pissed and blocked me, which is fine, that’s his choice. Just to clarify there were no hotels booked or anything like that on either occasion

People will mostly do to you what you allow them to.

Always do checks. Look our for red flags.

If some sense your keen,needy,desparate.

Surely they will take you yoo to the cleaners.

Above most of all, nobody on this earth could ever give you back your time that you have wasted!!

I’ve organised GB meets and the no shows are 70% of those saying they’ll turn up .

Waste of time.

Why do you think they bail out? From fab anyway!

It's usually someone that isn't the person they say they are, when it's a one on one meet, I think

Funnily enough another guy had the same experience that same night with the same person. I read his forum post and we agreed it was the same

As mentioned before these people just don’t have intentions to meet. Tiny fraction might really need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances but you never know.

There are few flags during chat that would tell you that. They are hesitant to share recent pics. Their pics are of poor quality or a screen shot. Not willing for a FaceTime call etc.

The biggest one - not ready for a social meet first.

If any of these flags pop up, it’s highly likely I’ll block and move on

I do agree with the "seeing red flags" that gets mentioned. After a few months on here there are certain things that show a timewaster. There are still too many that get through though! My block list is quite large as I block as soon as I have any doubts.....
