Ample vs. Curvy
Jump to: Newest in thread
"Ample is a strange one. Ample, to me, has always meant enough. How much is enough? What’s enough for one be too much for another . It’s an odd body type description. "
Can I just say that I meant odd description for a body type and not description for an odd body type! Just in case |

To be honest I just refer to myself as fat. I'm not comfortable with the term bbw, and whilst I have quite pronounced curves in the right places, I also have a lot in the wrong places too. I much prefer to just be upfront and I give my height and weight at the beginning of my profile, and let the reader decide what they want to refer to me as and whether they'd be interested in taking all 19 stone of me on. |

Dress sizes would give a clearer indication of a ladies image/size. I read it as CURVY being in the size 12-16 and ample as bigger than that but that is a personal guide - Bob |

Absolutely spot. I'm 5ft 11", 19 stone, size 20 (or 22 if the arse section isn't cut generously due to my ample lady lumps) A much shorter 19 stone woman is likely to be a bigger dress size. |

Definitely. I’d look ill at less than a 14 at my height. I’d never want to be less than that. There is a very big difference between someone who is 4 ft 11 and size 16 and someone who is 5ft 11 and size 16. Dress size means nothing. |

Apologies ladies if the dress size reference was wide of the mark. Of course height will have some bearing, it was to try and assist with visualisation of curvy v ample. Bob |

I did have it down as curvy but after many, many threads on it I thought I'd change it to ample while I was on my period. Since then, I've not really thought about it until the thread. I'm fat. There's no choice for that. Or squidgey cuteness when I'm feeling myself. |

Dress sizes would help yes, but curvy in general on here means a bigger lass but not set in stone. Lacey Red on here describes herself as curvy and she has a figure that I really like. But usually when I click on a profile with a curvy female, they are a lot bigger than Lacey.
The average dress size in UK now is 16 so when a lady describes herself as average on here, it can be anything from size 10 to 18.
Curvy to me is all in proportion with curves in the right places. Others have a different slant on this.
Curvy, Ample and Fabulous and probably average too all need replacing as they are all too subjective imo.
Dress size and height filters would be a very handy addition especially for paying members.
To those who'll reply that all women are beautiful, fair enough but we all have our preferences. I respect others' tastes so please respect mine. |

Do you realised ladies dress sizes aren't regulated? I could never say what dress size I was because it changes in every damn shop
Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing my dress size or weight with someone. Body descriptions then again can all be subjective. I can say I'm fat, some will agree with me, some won't but at what size/ weight do we agree that someone is fat?

So this only happens to ladies does it??
I can go in to one shop and a 32w fits perfectly, go in another and a 32w is far too tight. 34w in some fit well, in other shops, they're hanging off me.
If a lady is a 12, she'll fit in some 10s and some 14s. What I'm saying is dress sizes may fluctuate a size up or down but it gives a general.picture.
Ample, curvy and even average are terms which mean nothing.

It is a hard one.
I am fat, which I am fine with however it would be good to have a few more options to describe yourself as.
Hubby felt the same he is a fairly fit guy and in his words has a dad bod.
Size is such a big subject and so subjective.

Perhaps some don't have time to click on every profile. Those that prefer black men or only guys under 50 have filters for their preferences so why can't those who only like larger or slimmer women have a filter too. |
