I used to aggressively delete all every Friday but that was in the public sector where nothing was important
Through lockdown it crept up to the worst it’s ever been in my life, 8000+ in my inbox over 1000+ unread so a few weeks ago I decided enough was enough.
First I deleted everything received pre 01-01-2022 it was so satisfying, but barely touched the 1000+ unread.
Now each week my goal is to reduce unread by 100 and keep deleting overall. I set up some rules so stuff from certain people goes straight to junk , they will call if it’s important.I banned people in my team sending thanks emails. I tell people to remove me from CC. I call more and email less, it reduces new emails.
Today it’s 2081 and just 374 unread.feels really good.
How’s your inbox compare ?
