Had a bad back 4 days now at the base of my spine.
Does anyone know of places that need patients to " practice" on to ease the pain ..... Circumstances dictate I can't pay right now.
I live in Oldham x |

Check out physio schools or chiropracter(sp?) Schools, I know the one in London is very cheap, doubt you'll get free treatment or get your Gp to refer you for physio.... Also look up back streaching exercises on the web.... Hope this helps... |

That was going to be my suggestion....
I put my back out quite badly last year and my doctors were brilliant. |

If your not allergic to ibuprofen they help , I know it may hurt like hell but try to stay as mobile as possible, if it gets worse and your GP won't see you any earlier its a trip to A & E . |

Also take paracetamol and.ibuprofen to the full level for three or more days, not just as needed or when you remember. Work out a schedule (paracetamol can be 4 times a day, ibuprofen 3 times) and set alarm on your phone to remind you.
Most people don't take a full dose and for chronic or long term pain it will be more effective. |

Try this link, it's got lots of fairly decent exercises on it you could try to stretch your muscles (non weight bearing), it's been recommended by my GP for my arthritis and sciatica
Always stop if it feels too painful. Hope you feel better soon

Have you tried acupuncture its very good for back pain, if there are any colleges near you that teach it they sometimes offer reduced fees so the students get experience. I know this because i trained to be an acupuncturist and my college offered this service as we neared the end of our training. |
