Any tips for coping with these? For reasons of weight loss, mental health and physical health, I’m trying to get back to a healthier lifestyle. I’ve lost weight successfully in the past and I know that the first few days are the hardest whilst the sugar gets out of my system.
I’ve come through a period of several months where I was feeling quite low and emotional eating was playing a part. I’ve also got assignment deadlines coming up and I know that sitting trying to study is a trigger for me. I understand that going and doing something e.g. a walk, is a good option but I’m not going to be able to do that every time so welcome other ideas too. I’m determined to get this weight off!

When I was looking to kick the sugar habit I would snack on peanuts or other nuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.
I hated pumpkin seeds but I kept a big tub next to me so it was a case of convenience over everything else.
Eventually once I kicked the sugar I wasn’t snacking or having hunger pangs so much. |

I find I can get the sweetness hit from other things.
Like the options hot chocolate drink. It's 40 calories a cup, dunk some dark chocolate in that and lick it off. Should satisfy the craving for a while |

Try eating high protein as this will fill you up. I also only keep small versions of the sweet stuff in the house when I'm in a calorie deficit. Mini milk ways, freddos, buttons. Enough for a sweet hit but not enough to break the bank calorie wise. |

The best way I’ve found to overcome the cravings is not to have bad things in the house. It’s difficult at first and even now I find myself wandering to the cupboards to see what I can snack on. But when they’re bare and you literally can’t consume the rubbish you used to then the yearnings start to wane over time.
It’s just getting through the initial wall that is the issue for me! |

"Dark chocolate with at lease 85% cocoa solids. Healthy and you don't need much of it. Helps with sweet cravings! As been mentioned above, a mixed nuts and dried fruit bag is not too expensive."
I’ve been and got some of these in.. will have to work up to the 85% choc though, I’m really not a fan. Should get easier as the sweet tooth fades |

I’m exactly the same, on the plus side I know it doesn’t take many days though |
