Smell of bonfire night takes me back to my youth, I love the smoke in the air and the mistyness of it. It was great last night as it was probably the first dry one we've had in years I was out working in Wallasey and was great seeing all the families heading down to the river to watch the display

I grew up on a farm, and the one thing that i wish my children could see was when they used to burn the hay fields, i always thought it was a magical sight with the sky glowing orange and red and the smell was lovely. Don't get many bonfires now but i am fed up with finding the rocket cases in my garden....... (Perky)

It's Cordite, black powder (gun powder) makes too much smoke and is very dirty. There's also a chance of it continuing to burn as it falls back down injuring people on the ground.

Does anyone else love the smell of party poppers after they've been pulled?
