So this new monkeypox is just for us gayers - great! I lived through the last plague, Aids which served to set back the community years.

You have the type of newspaper and idiotic readership that link Monkey fucking - AIDS- Gay People =Monkeypox.
Also same papers telling their intelligent readers to ‘ignore the experts’. So they don’t actually check out the full facts and how it actually spreads and the dangers or risks.

Tbf I think people are wiser to it, especially post covid/war/standard goverment scapegoats.

I also lived through the AIDS/HIV crisis and lost friends. As portrayed recently in the fantastic It's a Sin series many in the gay community dismissed the virus as fake, propaganda and homophobic and look how that turned out.
If the science and facts link it predominantly to men who have sex with men then we have a duty to act. Grow up and put your own bigotted flag away till we know more. |

There is nothing to suggest that it's a sexually transmitted infection. It does spread through close contact and body fluids though. What's more likely is that a single individual in the gay community contracted it and the only people they had close contact with were other gay people. |

Nothing like a bit of bi phobia on a Wednesday morning lol. Incase you don't understand sexuality it's not a binary fixed formula it can change and constantly evolve. Now go educate yourself on sexuality, non binary and fluidity and enjoy the rest of your day

When I was involved in AIDS awareness back in the 90s, no one could understand the idea that MWHSWM is not the same thing as 'gay'.
