So I'm temporarily living in the dump that is Bedford. I don't venture out much but:- 1 in 10 drivers are using mobile phones whilst driving, 4 out of 10 are speeding, a lot of the cars wouldn't pass the MOT due to the noise they make, there's litter absolutely everywhere even though the mini roadsweepers are out every morning oh and walked right in to a drug deal the other day right outside the prison ! Question is, where the fuck are all the police??  |

It's no secret that the police are severely short staffed so probably out dealing more serious crimes maybe? |

Isn't that a question you should be asking the government.
I'm sure if the police had enough resources they would be happy to knick the fuckers.
Unfortunately most are busy tied up in unnecessary admin and bureaucratic nonsense.
Those that are left anyway,I wonder how many fewer police there are now compared to when he Tory government came to power? |

Probably running out of chocolate sprinkles donut in the local shop or nicking some sweet old pensioner who only doing 2mph over the limit. |

I don't use phone whilst driving, I don't speed in built up areas (I do on main roads where it's resonably safe to do so), my car is quiet, I've never dropped a single piece of litter (those guilty should be shot) oh and I don't sell or buy drugs |

Where are the police? Being budgeted out of existence so the service can be privatised. Having numbers reduced then lambasted when crime goes up. Having pensions destroyed to the extent many are leaving to secure a future for themselves. New officers leaving in droves once they have their degree for nothing (don’t need a degree to be a cop, but that’s my opinion). Take your pick. |

Absolutely! if no one reports anything, the police assume that everything is okay.
What doesn't help is roads policing numbers have been severely cut back. Our local RP unit in Reading used to have 16 officer per shift, now it has 4, the balance is made up of Specials.. |

The Police can only do so much with the funding given....Yet people blame them instead of blaming the incompetent Government who is behind it
Not enough support is being given to officers either, mental health in the Force is increasing and good people are leaving.
My guy was in court last week to face the guy who tried to run him over. The abuse is daily, verbally and physically, It's not acceptable in any other industry so why should they have to put up with it. He just shrugs and says 'part of the job'
That's on top of the crappy wage junior Officers get, they are on less than I am a month, it's no wonder the sector is in crisis  |

I think the Police are heavily unjustly criticised at times.
I'm sure behind the scenes they are working hard.
As others have said without real funding and support what they gonna do!
They have to put resources where it really matters. So petty crime maybe seen to go unpoliced...unpunished. That must be more frustrating for them than us.

There seems to be some correlation between authoritarianism and a highly visible or fear of the police force. Just an observation on my travels. It’s a shame we don’t have more respect and support for ours rather than the constant whinging and disproportionate expectations of it. |
