"In shocking news, Australia apparently does know its arse from its albo"
I loved seeing g the congratulations tweet from Bojo, harping on about how he's looking forward to working with the Labour government on the fantastic high value FTA agreed last year.
The one that the government itself states will add 0.02% GDP to the UK over the next 15 years and which equates to a reduction on the cost of imported Australian goods to each household in the UK of a whole £1.
Those new trade deals are really filling the gap caused by brexit.....

There's a definite difference between Aussie republicans and US ones though.
Also seems a good option. Supports the free health care system and comes from the kind of background you'd never see a US republican or UK tory politician come from these days.

Oh absolutely. As an Australian I'm acutely aware
Shall see how it plays out, plus the makeup of both houses. Big swing to the Greens last I looked (I've been trying not to, but my phone blew up when ScoMo conceded). Teal independents a new factor, probably not a bad thing.
But in terms of Brexit and Australian republicanism - yes, the whole world waits on baited breath to return to wank fantasies about the British empire. Sure, Jan. *nods* |
