Is it something you do often?
I stood on the scales for the first time in around 3 years last night.
I'm a stone and a half heavier than I remember!
Zero fucks given but it did surprise me a little. It probably shouldn't given the amount of crap I eat but I'm now seriously thinking of checking my weight more often, although I'm still wearing the same size clothes and they don't feel any tighter.
And I can't blame anything in my pockets or a very heavy hat as I was stark bollock naked at the time.
Do people still check their weight daily/weekly/monthly or like me do you just not bother?

I know people advise against it but I weight myself every day. It helps me realise what foods cause fluctuations and it’s easier to follow a weight loss trend. |

I weigh myself most days.
It's just data. With it I can take informed action if I want to. |

I work away from home half the year and weigh myself daily on trips. It's so easy to eat/drink whatever you want and I just keep a check that I'm not being stupid.
I've been in the same size clothes for nigh on 20 years, middle age spread will eventually catch up |

I did exactly the same and have the same result. It wasn't until I took a step back, looked at myself and realised though.
It bothers me as a want to stay in some sort of decent shape, but if your happy with yourself then don't worry about it. ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I weigh myself every morning as soon as I get up. Scales sync with my phone. No real reason for it other than habit.
My weight is pretty stable - but I have found I can meaningful change my weight (if I want to) based on what I eat and whether I increase or decrease the amount of exercise I do. Being able to correlate energy/activity v weight is quite interesting. |

I'm not obsessed with my weight. However, from time to time I do check it. I'll have a health review soon - so that's why. Can't wait..... (Not!!!)
I refuse to let them weigh me but I do like to know myself. I personally think they are blinkered about BMI's & obesity & Statin's (don't get me started on that topic!) I eat healthily & exercise & they can fuck off!
Monitor me blood pressure too from time to time. But will do that in the next couple of days. So I know. ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I’ve suffered over the years with a eating disorder and I did during lockdown start to obsess over the scales .I could see familiar patterns happening weighing after every meal was one of them.
Now I weigh once a week same time wearing same clothes and trying not to fixate on them . |

Last weighed myself about 20 years ago..previously to that I'd always been around 13 - 13 1/2 but for some strange reason I decided to just see if I was in stil;l in same range..Hell No ! Exactly 15 stone ! (can't help but thinking we using same scales here LOL).
But I have found what appears to be to blame, and quite a few people who recently aquired one also..'A lockdown lip' |

Daily
It’s such an effective method of ensuring a more steady weight
When it’s in a good spot I allow myself all the treats in the world that day. If it goes over I have more sensible days and bring it down . I have been the exact same weight for 6-7 years |

Weighing yourself too often can be dangerous. Weight can fluctuate a couple of kilos a day, so you can think you have gained a kilo when infact you have just drank a litre of water.

Yeah but weighing once a week and hitting that gain day can be just as dangerous. You think you've been super good all week then gained sending you in to a spiral.
At least if you weigh every day you will see the fluctuations and be able to identify why they happened such as eating a whole pack of chocolate brownie digestives with a cup of coffee the day before
At the end of the day weight loss and the journey is personal to that person and what works for them won't work for everyone. |

Exactly, do what works for you. As long as you are either maintaining or seeing a downward pattern then great. |

We don't own scales. I weigh myself occasionally at my parents house. Mainly curiosity after I finally stopped breastfeeding. The weight went back up to where it was pre children and seems to have stopped. It's handy to know I can go buy more trousers as I'm unlikely to get any bigger. Otherwise I really don't care what the number is ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Tracking my weight every morning helped me work out my body's natural rhythms and fluctuations. I start gaining a day or two before ovulation, gain steadily until my period and then it all drops back off (plus a bit more). Knowing when it's water weight vs fat gain has really helped me not freak out and give up on eating healthy because "it's not working anyway" (which is what I used to do before) |
