parkin isnt wot I thought it was - I thought it was a biscuit base with a mint layer and then covered in chocolate .............. but its not  |

I found a great chocolate cake recipe the uses oil instead if butter....sounds and looks wrong when making it but it's so lovely and moist (hehe moist  )
Everyone that's tried it gas said its as good as proper cafe cake |

"Thing is when i bake i go way over the top and then have noone to give it too. My stepdad said my cheese scones are the best hes tasted so will make him a batch this week."

I bake bread about twice a week, trying different flavours now and still experimenting with a particular brand of mix as I can never get it just right even when following the instructions.
I used to make muffins and take them into work but as I don't have a job at the moment unless you count my own small stationery business with a staff of one (me) then I have no-one to bake for - can't even remember if when I moved up here, if I brought my muffin moulds with me......off to search the kitchen cupboards now......   |

I didn't realise that it was a Northern thing
I thought everyone had heard of parkin
Oh and Choppsy, a slice of that is much easier to swallow whole than an iced finger is.

We had a cooking session over the w/e and made lemon meringue pie, bread and all sorts of soups & main courses.
If it is sweet stuff you want to make, I will be making cinnamon rock cakes this week.
Chocolate marble cake is good to make & a lemon drizzle cake |
