Just wondering if people have a cut off point with travelling to meet someone. 50 miles maybe. Gotta be confident off the meet first but for a first time encounter. What's your thoughts? |

Although distance does mess me around on here, I came to the conclusion quickly that distance isn’t really the problem to meet someone you really like. But wanting to see someone regularly that’s when it becomes an obstacle.
I’d travel a long way to meet on fab, otherwise I never would.
Manchester doesn’t like me. |

For a first meet / social then I’d probably say two hours each way, but it would depend on the person and what sort of connection we’d made already.
Furthest I have driven for a meet is four hours, stopping overnight and then driving home the following day.

Surely distance/time is relative?
I'm pretty much as far east as you can get in the UK, the roads are awful and slow. Someone 20 miles away could be almost an hour door to door.
I'll travel or I just won't meet anyone |

I've jumped on a plane for a meet ... and had it recipricatrd ... really it's about whether you both think a connection is worth it and each other's personal circumstances |

I agree with this.
It’s all about the connection |

As a single bloke I used to travel miles, I think the furthest was Preston (from East London), for a meet. A small group of us would meet up all over the place at organised socials and have a great time. |

I’ve traveled a few hours for a meet and it was well worth it! It’s about the connection, trust and rapport that has been built up first that dictates though…… I’d be wary rolling up after a long drive based on nothing more than a quick conversation |

I was going to ask this question.
Not that far really. We want to make connections for regular meets, not just one-offs, we also want a social-first, so probably 30-45 minutes drive. Don't working out very well at the moment, far to many time wasters.
Clubs are different, as we will be traveling for 4 hours to get to some clubs. |

"Generally about hour travel distance for first meets / social.
Will go further once established "
I’d crawl a thousand miles over broken glass to meet you! x |

I consider two hours to be a reasonable, easy journey. The fact that I’ve access to the motorway network means that my two hours covers half of the country
I’ve traveled much further in the past though |

Normally I’d say 1 hour drive max.
But as I like to travel generally, if I feel strong connection in chat and talks I’ll travel anywhere in UK combining the meet with some sightseeing or other activities we can do there. |

"200 miles (each way) is the most so far.
Back when fuel was merely expensive. "
Damn. Yes, fuel prices.
Op changed my mind, my answer is walking distance. If she’s proper fit, I might run. |

"Within an hour's drive for me. I'd love to say I could follow a connection no matter how far - but reality precludes that.
And if I give you a broken watch…? "

Doesn't real life ever get in the way of this?"

So it boils down to who it's with. Are they worth it? How certain that it's genuine. Is this why lots of people now only meet in clubs? Is there a better way to arrange meets maybe. ?? |

The problem being that if you travel a couple of hours each way (4hr round trip) and you like each other and feelings arise, are you going to keep that up to meet regularly? I wouldn’t, it wouldn’t fit in with my busy life and would turn into a bit of a ball ache to be honest. |

Depends how much we want to meet each other
And considering I travel to places to see friends and family it is no issue
However if it’s just a one off social or sex I’d have to say an hour |
