Always a fresh blade on a proper razor seems to work for me. No disposable ones

I used to buy these things when I was younger called 'Silky Legs' it's like really fine sandpaper. It was meant to be used as hair removal on it's own but I would usually use them the day after shaving or if I was camping at festivals, only cause my hair grows super fast but it would get rid of that look you mention.

I am sure you can buy similar on Amazon if you search hair exfoliating pads.

Just be careful of using too much pressure or being too vigorous. Small circular motion is best.

I have it on the tops of my arms and on my lower abdomen. Our daughter and son both have it and they don't shave their legs. It's actually a condition called keratosis pilaris and it's often inherited in a dominant manner, i.e if you have one parent with it, you're quite likely to also inherit it. Whilst exfoliating and suchlike might improve it very short term, it's quite likely it can't be eradicated.

I know I've never shaved the tops of my arms or my abdomen and my 5yo daughter has never shaved anything.

You can get a body scrub specially for keratosis pilaris. First aid beauty do in. CeraVe also do a body mosituriser with salicylic acid for afterwards. Apparently its supposed to be very good.

I'm allergic to salicylic acid unfortunately...

I didn't know it was a thing though it was just me and my skin hasn't been even, looked the same since I had psoriasis first outbreak.

Every day is a school day!

Psoriasis is excessive rate of production of skin cells, keratosis pilaris is a build up of keratin (skin protein) in the hair follicles. It's very likely that the two things are linked.

Shave with very warm water, then use cold water after.

Although I tend to use Veet for body hair!

Actually I looked it up, I don't think I've got this. It's not bumpy or anything, you can just see red dots but like under the surface? I think they are hair follicles and are only visible because I have very thick, dark hair
