If a man had an incredibly flattering suit, but once devoid of it, was actually an out of sorts needing a bit of gym time body tune up and with a tiddly specimen. Would you still go ahead with the deed ladies? (Please say yes, please yes) |

Birthday suit only I'm afraid, take it or leave it. Truth is I couldn't wear a tailored bang tidy suit. I'd be dead by sex the following day. |

Suits are throwback to a different age.
They were worn to project power, confidence, and be seen as snazzily or conservatively dressed.
When I see a suit worn today, the message I get from the wearer is
1. They have no confidence, and have to hide behind a suit.
2. They are projecting a superficial image, so this is deceptive, and the individual cannot be trusted.
3. They are following expectations, instead of setting their own.
Sorry to the old school, but a whole fashion industry telling people they have to wear suits to be successful is just as insidious as the myriad ways the fashion industry pressure other people.

I’m afraid I totally disagree with all of the above!! You clearly don’t wear a suit for work (or probably any other occasion)
Some like to put in an effort as women do to dress nicely. I’d say most men in suits ARE confident, the majority successful. They may not be as popular since covid but dam, a guy in a well fitted suit is sexy! |

No that's fine, as is your right to disagree, no problem.
I have in the past worn suits in a number of professional industries, so I do have experience of the power-play dynamic behind them.
I've seen people rejected in the workplace because they were wearing the "wrong type of suit". Either too formal, or too casual.
I've worked in creative media where no one wore suits, thus removing the opportunity for division.
So I have been fortunate to see "both sides".
What interests me is the deeper psychological factors, both positive and negative in to suit wearing, and the manufactured pressure of the fashion industry and society as a whole blindly following it without question.
"Because it is expected".
By who precisely ? And why ? And what right do they have to expect another to conform to their ideal ?
I once had 2 salesman visit me, arriving in a brand spanking new BMW. And they wore highly expensive suits.
Looking out the window before they even arrived in Reception, I made a value judgement (we are a highly visual species after all).
"These guys are out of my budget range. And this is not their real image, it's a projected one. I don't have time for this nonsense or deception."
Within 10 mins of meeting them, during the "our company are successful" bollocks, I'd been offered a jolly in the Directors Box at White Hart Lane.
I called it there and yeeted them out. They asked why and I replied "Someone has to pay for that. And the new Beamer. And the expensive suits. I don't do kickbacks or coercion/inducements and I'm not beholden to anybody. Thank you, but now get out".
So "Suits" to me are all part of that "Phoney Package", I'm sorry to say.

I’ve a few bespoke one with my monogram on my shirt cuffs.
Sadly can’t show them on here as they would give a little too much away.
Recently I’m in the process of having a shirt made with my monogram on one cuff and my lovers on the other….she doesn’t know yet |

I wear one most working days, but I’m actually not a big fan. The fact that lots of women love a guy in one is a suit’s major redeeming feature ."
And a lovely looking suit suits you x

Hubby was wearing a suit when I first met him. Actually thinking back, he looked pretty fucking hot with it all dishevelled as we got to business whilst almost fully clothed. Might need to recreate that one |

Quite a lot of suits nowadays don't flatter anybody.
Ridiculously over padded shoulders and tight trousers look stupid. I've seen this on TV presenters so it can't be poor choice.
I have made the error of thinking that the wearer has a reality problem with measurements, only to be told "Oh, that's the style now" |

A well cut, and properly tailored suit can be incredibly sexy, especially when paired with a crisp shirt and appropriate shoes. Bonus points for cufflinks. There is an aura of confidence and power exuded. The jacket can be slipped off, the shirt cuffs folded back, exposing forearms; a leather belt....
...sorry where was I?
Oh yes and kilts. Properly fitted kilts, with socks, boots, shirt and jacket. Worn in the Scottish tradition. Bonus points for a sgean in the socks, and rugby thighs. |

"How many guys wear shoes to match the suit too I wonder!
I wear black shoes with a dark suit, but I wear brogues with lighter coloured suits.
Never considered navy blue with blue, or oxblood ?"
I don't like oxblood. I don't have black brouges, just brown.
I tried to get blue brouges but they didn't have them in my size. |

The suit would not be complete with complementing shoes and accessories.

Some heterosexual males get frightened and nervous when one man compliments another man. They'll just exclusively and indelicately respond to women on a thread, failing to realise it's just a man exercising solidarity and being "inclusive" and "brotherly".
Just my observations this week. |
