I don't do it. I think as a bloke one of the ways to stand out from the crowd, is to read a full profile then message something that's original that shows what kind of person you are and try to show who your messaging that you're reading the profile and the reason why your messaging is that you think you're compatible and have something to offer.

I think copy and paste messages even if you're getting replies from some is asking for trouble. Most women want to see a little effort and can spot a copy and paste message from 1000 yards away.

That's just my take on it.

I hate copy and paste messages and just delete them, if you can’t be bothered to put an effort into a message for an individual person, why should I reply?

I had a repeater who has sent the same message 6 times over a 2 month period until I told him to get lost, I didn’t meet him from the first message, it sure wasn’t going to happen from future c&p messages… guys - remember who you’ve messaged!

We find the copy and paste messages annoying. The people who just say "Hi!" I mean, does that even deserve a response. The best for us is just a couple of sentances saying who you are, and a face picture is important.xx

I have to write spontaneously, otherwise it doesn't feel like me when I read it back.

My guilty sin is engaging in pointless threads in the forums, which is its own punishment...

I cannot stand copy and paste. And yes especially those that send the same one over and over. So I've even noticed are using the same copy paste for months on end up to a year sometimes.

But my favourite is when they are tweaking the messages with names and forget to tweak.

Takes 2 minutes to read a profile and write a message. We are humans and like the personal touch.

I had a lovely convo with a chap two weeks ago and then it went quiet.

Today... exact same opening message appears. When I called him out on it, he allegedly mistakenly deleted all his messages so couldn't remember who he'd messaged previously.

There’s something to be said for speaking to the masses with a personalised well crafted, witty copy and pasted message

My profile states - read my profile at the top of it... I get a lot of messages where they clearly read that bit, and said so. But obviously none of the rest

I wouldn't care but I purposely keep it pretty short, so folk don't have to wade through a long one

It's been ages since I sent an introductory message, however my opening messages are always unique, tailored and handcrafted.

But, in rare circumstances, I will not hesitate in sending a formulaic message when the recipient has offered very little in their profile to go on.

That so called "cut and paste" message becomes an ice breaker and the chat subsequently becomes more unique and tailored.

Note: I'm not talking about simple "Hi" messages here or any other monosyllabic nonsense.

To be fair a lot depends on the content of the copy/paste, no?

I can't accomadate currently. I clearly state I cannot accomadate. And yet I still get messages asking if I do? So sure they've saved themselves 5 secs of their life not reading my profile. But they're never going to get a response. So isn't that just a waste of both our time?

This is my take: read the profile and make something about it, if you’re messaging someone then there must be an aspect that you liked rather than just blindly because you’re horny, either the photos or something like that.

At the same time, if you’ve written a joke or something, there’s no problem in re-writing it in if you think it’s appropriate, there’s also no problem in that.

The problem is where you write the exact same thing to different people…that’s just moronic

I think for me, I just don’t have the interest or wish to spend energy messaging that many people, and I wouldn’t want to get the results of a scattergun / wide net approach. Less is more for me, quality is best that way too. And why waste time doing that all individual choices though OP, you do you, as the saying goes

Hello there generic name, how are you on this generic day?

I see you are looking for a generic guy to do generic things with.

Would you like to meet in a generic beverage establishment and see if we get along

I can/cannot host and will/will not travel.

Do you not see? A little personalization can go a long way. Mentioning specifics from their profile show you have at least made an effort and aren't just blanket messaging everyone online.

Women don't spend time replying so why should men spend time reading profiles or writing a new message every time.

Also I can never remember who I messaged before. Profile pics change or look similar. Tits all look the same.

I think copy and paste messages even if you're getting replies from some is asking for trouble. Most women want to see a little effort and can spot a copy and paste message from 1000 yards away.

That's just my take on it."

Yes we know, especially when they are calling me Sheila or addressing the message to my husband.

"Women don't spend time replying so why should men spend time reading profiles or writing a new message every time.

Also I can never remember who I messaged before. Profile pics change or look similar. Tits all look the same.

If I was just sat blasting out messages to the local population I'd probably use a copy paste, but I only message profiles that have intrigued me in some way so my messages are tailored to that person.

Sending the same message to me which has obviously been copied and pasted is sheer bloody laziness

I don’t mind a bit of copy and paste. If you’re opening few lines are tailored to me, but you go on to tell me a little about you I really don’t mind if that part is copy and pasted. You’re not going to change who you are and what you’re looking for for each person you message.

We do it every 2 months. About 400 times.

Must admit we are slacking though. We haven’t attached a dick pic once!

I've sent out a few "copy & paste" style messages before and they tend to work now and again. However, when I do put a proper effort into a message, it ALWAYS goes un-noticed and more often than none, straight to delete. I actually put a great deal of effort into a message today. It was read, deleted and then I was blocked!

You can tell, I've got one guy who sends the same copy and paste message word for word every week.

They're fairly easy to spot and I just delete.

So amusing that I've removed almost all my profile text, yet since I have most of the messages I've received say 'love your profile and pics, would you like to meet?' and attach a dick pic. When my profile clearly states 'just here for forums and chat. No dick pics please.'
