i remember having a conversation a number of years ago with a married male neighbour of mine who was cutting the lawn.we chatting about a new neighbour who had just moved into the street opposite and was a single parent.this lady had struggled with shopping and had been tackling an overgrown garden on her own.the man i was chatting to said he would offer to help the lady but hes mrs woudnt be suited.so am asking do men who have a partner feel they darent or cant offer help to a female neighbour who is single and needs help? Or would you not want to? And what if the neighbour asked you to help? What would you do?even if it was all innocent. |

I used to help a neighbour with her garden as have a ride on mower, my partner at the time was the one desperate to try getting her into bed. Luckily nothing happened and she is still a friend even after the ex has gone. |

"If I had a partner and my neighbour needed some help in that situation, I’d try and help in anyway I could.
"
Yes I would be the same. It is good to be able to help people. |

Of course I’d help. And my then mrs would help too.
And if my future mrs has a problem with it, tough. I’m not gonna see someone struggle, unless I don’t like them. |

"Are folk really that possessive?
Does the stereotype of the single woman being a sex mad femme fatale after everyone's husband still exist? "
I clearly does in some peoples minds.
Now, how about I come round and trim your bush. |

If she was a friend, yes.
If she wasn’t a friend, probably not.
But I am friends with my neighbours. One of them is coming around to plough my field this week. (Not a euphemism!).
